1st track kill!

I was out at the Texas Motorplex last night with a few friends, I took the RL out for a little fun. With 6K now on the speedo it was time to see what she would do. I clicked off a few 14.30's playing with the launch. Most 60fts were 2.1 to 2.2.
I finally got it right on the last run. I pulled up along side a 94 Camaro with a stock LT1 with only exhaust and on street tires. I had seen him run earlier so I knew I had a good shot to beat him.

I ran a 14.06 to his spinning 14.8. It was over before it started! He was a nice guy he congratulated me on the win and said he needed to get him one of those

my run
RT .091
60 2.062
330 5.855
1/8 8.988
mph 78.33
1000 11.737
1/4 14.069
mph 97.66

Do you have a auto or a 5 speed? When the track opens here I got to run my buddie with a 5.0 Mustang that has some engine mods. We will run the 1/8 mile. Thumbs up on the win

Nice light. I can get a 2.0 60' in the Volvo. I am sure you can get a 1.8 with this if you try. How does that Buick run? -J

It is a automatic. If the Stang is modded you might have a tough time but it does depend on which Stang, mods or no mods.

Thanks

1.8's? on the street tires, I don't know? that might be a tall order. I plan on some DR's soon, that should get it in the 1.8's.

The Buick is a blast and I mean a blast! Mid 11's at 3800 lbs. Right now I have about 700 miles on the fresh motor. So no racing till afer the HR Power Tour, by then should have about 3K on the motor, then it will be time to play. Thanks

Cool. It may be a month or so before I go back should have a set of DR's by then. You gonna bring out the Sky, if we hookup?

Your Vette vs my GN might be a good race?

He had an '86 in '86, when he was 19. I still think it looks like my grandma's Monte Carlo but he insists it was a 'hot rod'. Sorry, I just assumed you were using DRs. We were the last at the track to get them, so I figured if a Volvo wagon had them everyone else 'had to'. LT1 Camaros were getting 1.9s on street tires. Keep us informed. -J
