Free run in Englishtown Jun 6,7,8

Old Bridge Township Raceway Park

Raceway park in Englishtown, NJ is doing a free weekend exhibition of their new 1.4 mile road course on next weekend on Jun 6, 7, and 8.

I'm thinking on going Sat.

Not to be a SPOILER..but if u were with us last year when we went to the park in Manalapan....we could not move down rte 9 South. On the weekends it is unbearable...and when Englishtown is doing their racing...it gets worse...Remember, Manalapan & Englishtown are really one township...just giving u the heads up here...On weekends, Staten Island residents just come on down.

I won't be able to do Sun, I have my Aunt and Uncle's 40 Anniversary brunch. That's why I'm looking at Sat.

anyone interested in this better get there EARLY......i mean........VERY EARLY. EVERY CAR FORUM has this news, and i bet you there'll be a line about 2 hours before gates open. I'm going to be there friday morning, in hopes to have the best chance of getting in. (only first 250 cars allowed in)

I also am in contact with their management on their ruling for convertibles. Once I find out, I'll let everyone know. I don't want to wake up early and sit in line morning to be told I can't run because I don't have a roll bar

Don't worry, Mike- they're not actually running. They'll be driving on the track.

Thanks...needed that clarification...my car doesn't go above 85....but I posted this on the Rafferty's thread since it was kidnapped over there..

Here is a suggestion for those who can make it on Friday...we meet at Englishtown Raceway early...afterwards we go over to Old Silver Tavern, which is 10 minutes away...lunch buffet is 8 dollars...after that, we head over to my deck and hang out..another 10 minutes away...Just raising the flag.

On friday, the event is from 12-5. I'm not sure how many runs or laps they're allowing each driver, so it may last until 5pm. Just a thought. It may turn out to be a dinner buffet rather than a lunch.

If it's the NHRA national event I can guarantee you traffic will be murder... I know from experience... Sat in traffic for 1 hour trying to get in and 2 hours just to get out of the parking lot one year... Unless you get there at about 7 am and leave early. Like before the finals...

OK...so let it be written...IHOP is off Texas road on rt 9...u have to jughandle right under the underpass of rte 18...just past Oasis ford...when u cross over rte 9 there is an entrance to get inside the strip mall but u have to be careful u don't pass it...u really cannot see it if u go fast...You may be better off going past Texas Rd and then jughandle by rte 520 which is the next light...and come down on rte 9 North...this sounds confusing...it is...IHOP is in the strip mall where the Regal Movie theatre is on the rte 9 North side...have I confused everyone? I am getting a headache myself.

ok, slight change of plans. From cruising around other car forums........10am is going to be way too late. I will be at raceway park between 7-8am with some other people from our NJTuners club.

I don't know about a drag race the following weekend, but on Saturday, June 14th is the Formula Drift Racing.

There are a few Solstice owners planning to attend to see Rhys Millen Racing race their Pontiac Solstices and GTO.

Sat is 10-3
Sun is 10-5.

All 3 days I suggest you get there EXTREMELY early. No joke, there are thousands of people aware of this grand opening all over the state, as well as other states. And they're only allowing the first 250 cars each day on the track.....so yeah..........bring a snack and a book or something. I'm going friday because it's probably going to be the least busy since it's a work day. Sat and Sun I expect to be mobbed. I know several people in our NJTuner club that are actually requesting off, and CALLING OUT just for this event to get there friday.

Also, everyone don't forget, you must have a full face race helmet to be let on, as well as pants (not shorts). There won't be loaner helmets, although you might find someone nice enough to let you borrow theirs for a bit.

Oopps. I knew when the track times were. I was wondering what buzz you heard for when people were going to show up on Sat.

If 7 is the time to show for Friday's noon run ... that makes the start time for Sat ... what ... 0400?!

i'd show up around 7-8am for any of the days.

Although I'm now currently thin
