Houston SCCA Auto X

I was all set to go to my first SCCA Auto X this morning. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep and I got up at 4:30 AM. Went to the SCCA site to get directions to the track, and WHAT'S THIS? They changed the date and location just Wednesday! The event took place yesterday and I missed it!

BTW, I'm Byron, new to this forum, my GF has an '07 Sky. We're in Spring. Are there any Sky groups in Houston?? Would like to get connected to some like minded folks. Any suggestions?

No organized group in Houston that I'm aware of. I was thinking of organizing a "Bluebonnets & BBQ Run" but I didn't follow through on it.

I am here and I want to autocross so maybe we should for a team or group or something. SCCA Houston wants me to pay $80 to be member which could be cool. I know Porsche and BMW have a group here don't know about Saturn or Kappa.

I am going to the LoneStar Bash this Sat if it does not rain. If it does then Sunday may be a great deal. This race at Gulf Grayhound park?

As far as I know, It's at GGP, but they changed it at the last minute last month.

Why not do both?

Also do you go to the one up north at the Police Acadamy? I think it's Porsche and BMW CCA's.

Well, I went to my first AutoX ("SOLO") yesterday and I had a blast! I met some very helpful people and learned a lot. I placed 8th out of 11 'rookies' so I have a lot to learn.

Next Houston Solo will be Sunday, June 6 at Gulf Greyhound Park. Cost is $15 for a weekend membership and $45 for race entry. Spectators are free. Y'all come on out next time!
