I HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED to a drag

Yes I have been challenged to a drag by my associate and a friend. they are both saying that they can take me and I think that I may be able to get at least one, my associate has a 2001 eclipse rs so he will be easy I think, but my friend has a El Torino with a 327 so he will probably be able to take me out very fast. So we will find out Thursday at Irwindale if they don't chicken out first. If any one wants to go feel free to come and watch or take a run its 20 bucks and I think you get to go as much as you like but I don't know, the rules are not specific about that..

The eclipse should be no problem. I don't know much about the other car, but I don't think you should be too worried.

The 327 is going to take you off the line but if it's a quarter mile you may have a chance to come back

If you are a Redline, either one should not be a problem. N/A might have a problem.

Neither should be a problem.
The El Torino has only a 327. If stock, it may have 165 to 245 hp.
If he has reworked the motor it may have 275 to 350 hp.
You still have the hp to weight ratio on your favor.

ha thats what I was just thinking to myself here. if it's a stock build 327 and not anything other than out of the box then shouldn't be a hard task.

the eclipse rs is going to be a joke, you can shift early and still be out ahead.

Don't know he has the 2.4 Sky not a RL.

That RS is pretty evenly matched with a 2.4 liter @ 140 HP and 158 torque. My ex-GF used to have one and it would move.

The 327 will probably own all.

It's not nearly as evenly matched as you would think. My 2.2 before a lot of the modifications has made quick work of most 420a's that I've come across. Especially if the driver is sub-par. Kim's 2.4 would easily walk all over one.

Still hard to say with the 327 though, just because it's a V8 doesn't mean anything anymore.

Unless it is an LS7 Seriously though, Mayhem and I dusted quit a few "bigger HP" cars at the strip

As for Mustangs, the Surgeon General says nothing about smokin' a Ford

BTW Scarlett ran a 7.0 @ 98 mph with a 1.6 60' at the the 1/8th strip Wednesday night.

Videotape the race and post it on YouTube? Except nowadays they consider that a crime and you could get busted for it. I'd like to see the race anyways.....

Since he said 327 I'd assume he means El Camino.

And after looking again at the first post and signature, sounds like it's a 2.4 instead of a LNF. The Eclipse will still be fine, but the 327 might be a challange or a loss. Should be fun though if you drive her right and have decent seat time at a track.

No I was using BFG 315-30R-18'sDR's. Stock OEM Goodyear Run Craps couldn't stick if they had glue on them They are probably the worst tires I have ever seen. I only have 3K miles on the rears and I am going to have to replace them I am thinkin about Michelin Pilot Sports or NITTO Invo's.

I apologize for gettin off topic.

As for the SKY, it is capable of surprising some bigger cars I have run 13.8's in the 1/4 and 8.9's in the 1/8 in Mayhem, consistently

The 327 will have the benefit of torque off the line. but it should be an interesting race.

I hope things go in your favor but really, how many older model El Camino's aren't tricked out?
