launch ideas for the rl

whats a good rpm to launch at? it seems like no matter what i launch at it seems to almost die, it goes down to about 800 rpms if i launch at 3000. any ideas?

try 2500 RPMs and try not to dump the clutch

I launch at around 4500 at the strip on drag radials, but I don't drop the clutch, I slowly let it grab

Do you have the traction control off? It really shouldn't bog down from a 3000rpm launch.

i had the traction control off, i made this mistake already. i launched at 2k with it on and the car nearly died, it revived itself lol. i think ima try 2k then 3k while slowly letting off, seems like i should be able to drop the clutch though and it grab and not bog down, maybe i need more mods . im going to the track this saturday along with kendall, who will royally own me mainly due to his bsr and hahn ic, so ill try my launches then.

If you are trying to actually break the tires loose, you don't need more mods, you need MORE REVS. At Solo events, if I actually want to make a real hard start I run the engine to about 4500 rpm and dump the clutch. At that point, the tires are spinning and I modulate the throttle to regain traction. By the time the rear has solidly hooked up, it is about time to hit second. I love the car, but I HATE the short gearing.

Yep. I do the same, traction control off, run RPM up to about 4500 drop the clutch and stand on the gas. The hard part is to not hit the rev limit before you shift to 2nd.

im not worried about spinning the tires, if i just wanted to spin them id rev it up high like yall said. i want an actual LAUNCH so when i drop the clutch the car jumps forward instead of bogging down or spinning, like just chirping a little.

This is a tiny engine. And it has to move BIG tires with 3000 pounds on them. There won't be a rev point where you can just drop the clutch and jump forward without either bogging the engine or spinning the tires. To do what you want will require managed clutch slipping, and that is HARD on the clutch. Otherwise, some revs, a modest amount of slip until you are going and thn just jump on the right pedal while letting out the left pedal. BTW, if you don't shut off the traction control, it will ALWAYS bod when the rears break loose.

Also, FYI, just cause it says Traction Off, doesnt mean everything is off, you have to hold down the button till it says ESC off. That way all the Electronic Stability Controls are off, and you will not have it cut out on you. I cannot stand the traction control, its really annoying.
