Lost in the Woods /Cone Killer 2017

Autocrossing in the "GREAT WHITE NORTH" doesn't begin for a while yet but it would be nice to hear from those good people enjoying the sport. Events, suspension setups, tires... the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat!
Please share your season with us.

Well, our season here just kicked off and I was without my Sky...got to throw the GFs Veloster Turbo around (God it needs tires BAD!) and had some fun that way but I don't think her setup would help all that much. Next round is in June and I HOPE (but doubt) my car will be ready by then. Should have all the work done though shortly around that time.

There is a nice Veloster that I often see on the way to work, driven by a good-looking girl.

I always notice it because her license plate is "CLVRGRL".

Makes me smile every time I see it.

Sorry to hear your car wasn't sorted out for the season opener. The Veloster looks the part. Other than the tires, how does it handle? Installed the 6k springs in the front of my car but the FE2 anti-sway bar makes me shudder LOL. It's so small! I might try the FE3 first time out. I need to make a rack to store all these bars.
When you went from 7k to 5k in the front, did you lose ride height from the thinners springs compressing more? Just wondering if I should add a bit while the tires are off.

Yes, when you drop spring rates your ride height is going to drop too. My 5Ks dropped the front a lot and it took a couple tries to get it right.

Remember, your sway bars control how much lateral roll you get. The lighter sway up front is going to shift more weight faster to the outside wheel. With the quick left right left style track of AutoX, the front soft sway really helps those tires dig in. This does come at the cost of a little sluggish on transition. Our cars are so stiff anyway and the speeds so slow that the transitions still happen fairly quick. No issue with it so far. Think how bad mine is...5k and the FE2 bar yet you can ask Gassor, my car is no slouch.

The VT drives nice but the tires are so bad it's hard to say how good it handles. Tires are really holding it back.
