Speedway driving

Are there any speedways in the eastern / central part of the country that open up occasionally for simple lap driving (not AutoX or anything)? I'd love to get out and let my Redline run just as fast as she can.

Almost any club or sactioning body will require a roll bar. -J

Bristol Speedway

Here is your chance to drive around the Bristol Speedway... Maybe not
at the speed you desire, but you will be going fast enough to see colored
lights....

The lights are fantastic, over 4 million. The banking is very distrubing 38*. He drove the first time we went, then made me drive the next year. If you stop to talk to the guy that lets you on the track (ask some silly question...) you can then get a run at the banking. I highly recomend it. This is a shot out the passenger window coming out of turn 3. -J

Darlington, laps for relief...They take you around about 60. He held back and got a run on the Mini, probably up to 85mph, on the last lap. The big man was crying. We had Driving into Darlington County-Springsteen on the CD & 2 of my student in the back seat. -J

An early Redline made right after the turbo shutdown, I have powerlocks, but no power seat.

AMS is like Darlington as RedHead said... the pace you at about 60... however if you fall back, one needs to catch up some how. :-)

At this event there are police cars in the corners to prevent people from going toward the walls there. It is mostly 17 - 20 year olds.

Bristol

Saturday they had the ride the track at Bristol, I got up to around 80 this year, Then I found out my Stability control was holding me back. Going through the turns at speed put the car into a position with the G-forces that the computer sensed the car was unstable and applied the brakes (the last run I had a passenger with me and it had to use even more brake and caused them to overheat, that is when I realized what was going on). I didn't get to make another run after I figured this out...
They held the pace car to 75, because of someone last year in a S2000 that wrecked and totaled his car. but many were dropping back and making runs for about a lap or two. It cost 10 dollars for 5 laps.
