Well, now Streak has been autocrossed
For those of you that plan on autocrossing an RL or GXP, there is PLENTY to learn. But, what fun it will be. The tiny bit of turbo lag we feel on the street can really be felt when exiting a turn and the turbo has unwound. And boy the gears are short because the car gathers up speed SO fast. Last negative is that it is SO quite that I had NO clue what the engine was doing until it did it (like hitting the rev limiter). The first issue will be addressed through left foot braking differently than I have in the past to keep the turbo spooled up better. The second two issues will be resolved by short shifting (doable with all the torque) and MagnaFlow 3" system. (There may be a programmable shift light in my future.)
Now, on the up side, this car is incredibly competent, composed, powerful, and refined. The potential is amazing. With the traction control off and the ESC in comp mode I could do anything that I wanted. The ABS is just wonderful, subtle, and can be modulated. Initial turn in is crisp, but if I carried too much speed it instantly would push, but a quick let up, an extra stab at the wheel and feed in some gas and the car would go neutral and then could be steered with the wheel or the gas. With Hoosier A6's it stuck like nothing else I have ever driven. I don't think I am going to tweak the rear but I can see adding 3/4 to 1 degree of negative camber. This car will need to be driven differently than many others because of short gearing, BIG mid range, and electronic "assistants". Somebody with a lot more talent than me is going to own A/Stock in 2007. It won't be a steamroller display like the Z0K's have done to C/Stock, but S2000's and C4 Vettes will have their collective hands full with turbo Kappas. Streak even made my Chevy van look better!!!

Very nice!
I'm curious about your tire setup. were they race slicks, or street legal slicks? and how was the car once you went beyond the capabilities of the tires?

Streak face some stiff competition !!!! But he (she??) came through it beautifully. I enjoyed watching Bob race her. He is a very good driver and a proud papa. Awesome being able to see what the redline can really do. I can't wait to get mine now.
