Acid Rain Water Spots?
I have only had my car about three weeks and it has rained most of the time. However, my car is garaged so it stays out of the rain. I have washed the car several times, mostly just to get the pollen off.
During the last wash I noticed spots on the windows. I thought I didn't dry it properly so didn't pay much attention because I was in a rush and figured I'd get them the next time. I was preparing it to take it to a car show tomorrow and realized that no matter how much I washed the windows or rubbed them with windex the damn water spots won't come off. I spoke to my brother who is a mechanic at a dealership that shall remain nameless (partly because it is not Saturn) and he said that it is from acid rain and nothing will get the spots off except some kind of acid rain wash. Is this true? Has anybody else heard of this? He said that the dealership should have detailed it before I picked it up. The problem is that when I picked it up it was pouring with rain so I would never have noticed. I'm not sure whether or not to call the dealership and tell them the deal? |

Try using a clay bar it should do the trick. We have reclaimed irrigation down here and it leaves spots as well. The clay bar works like a charm>
GOOD LUCK AT THE CAR SHOW ![]()

Acid Rain Waterspots
When I received my sky it had acid rain spots on all the windows. I used
about 10 different cleaners to get them off with no success. I took my SKY to a friend who owns a auto glass shop. He gave me a product called Sparkle Glass cleaner. It is like a liquid car wax for glass. It removed all of the spots from my windows and windsheild.

I'm going to have to give a couple of these remedies a try. At dusk, looking into the sun, my windshield looks like it has sap spots on it--but you cannot feel any raised 'bumps'. After unsuccessful attempts to clean it, took it to dealer who used some type of cleaner on it--but no luck there either. Since it's only certain conditions which it can be seen, not at top of my priority list. Maybe kwayne's old fashioned remedy will do the trick, if not, i'll just partake of the alcohol myself and then i won't worry about the spots!
Seriously, though, has anyone else encountered this problem or have any thoughts as to the cause? |

Auto Paint Care
I got this off the Internet. It addresses a lot of problems involving paint care. I didn't include all the image references (made the file too big), but the information is worth a look.

If your going to use this on the paint it going to remove the sealant or wax on the finish. So your going to have to rewax or reseal the surface you did this on. |

I've tried several remedies listed in this thread on Elvira and she still will not give up her water spots. I gave her 4 Dawn washings to remove the polish before I applied any of the remedies and I'm nowhere closer to solving this problem then I was when I first started this morning
. I'm open to other ideas if there's any left.Don

Try 0000 steel wool, which is very fine. It will remove any embedded debris, dirt, grime from your glass. It will get the glass completely clean and it wouldn't scratch glass
