Chrome wheel care

Just wanting to find out what the best way to clean/protect the chrome wheels. Does anyone use the wax/polish/sealers on them as well? Any techniques to keep them looking their best?

I use Meguirs wax/cleaner on mine about once a month and Turle Wax Ice detailer between waxes to keep them clean.

meguiers wax/cleaner is not giving any protection to your wheels. the best product you can apply for protection would be a synthetic paint sealant. It works the same on chrome and you only need to apply every 4-6 months. I have also noticed far less brake dust sticking to my wheels when it is applied.

Windex works great on chrome. Doesn't abraid the plating and since it's not coating anything like a wax, it doesn't attract dirt or hold it.

Good ol' soap and water. If you want to apply a sealer you can it will help delay pitting down the road since the elements are not getting directly to the chrome finish

Sealers/ clear coats work wonders on polished aluminum as well

Like we said, a wax or sealant will give them some protection from the elements, including salt. I use the Ultimate Paint Sealant twice a year, and Poly-Seal about once a month on all my wheels.

I use Meguiar's Quick Wheel Detailer [comes in a clear bottle] inbetween washes. I use the Meguiar's chrome wheel cleaner with a meguiar's soft wheel brush when I wash.

I am using very old turtle wax after prepping with a fine white compound. Everything just rinses off for about a month and then I repeat the process.

I use Nxt all metal polish or mother chrome polish to polish my dads wheel and then layer three layer of Duragloss 111 for easy remover of dirt and brake dust, without use a wheel cleaner and just regular car soap. Protection can last you from 1 month to 3 months.

For my dads and my chrome wheels on my G35. I use P21S or a dilute APC with a bucket of car soap to clean the wheels if they are really dirty with brake dust and dirt. If its not bad, then I just use the bucket of car soap and my Wheel shmitt or brush.

For protection. I first polish the wheel with either mother chrome polish or NXT all metal polish and apply 3 layer(12 hrs apart from layer) of Duragloss 111 to the face and the back of the wheel. This make it easier for me to clean the wheels.
