Thanks for the signs. I've printed one for the windsheild and one hang tag. My car is full of swirls despite also telling the dealership NOT to wash the car. In the next week or two I'm going to polish out the swirls with my Porter Cable. If anyone is interested, I'll put together a How-To.

I'm also going to fix some scratches on my friends car. If anyone is interested I'll also put one How-To together. However this will be a while as I have just ordered some paint to be mixed. It'll take at least 2 weeks from today before it comes.

If I was living in Central Washington - I would definitely need that.
But it's not required around this part of the state - YET !

In and around the DC area, it should be the main text, with English in the footnote.

Aside: In fact, the service industry in this Colonial city, is almost entirely foreign (Latino, Indian, Africana, Korean, Arabic), but predominately Latino. If you can't speak Spanish here, you will have a very difficult time working in the service industry. In some of the Indian (that's a native of India) monopolized industries, they will not hire you unless you're Indian. Yes, it's discrimination writ large, but no one seems to care. There is also a good bit of undercurrent cultural strife between the service subcultures (which mirror ethnic cultures in many forms). This is a very mixed up city, literally and figuratively.

Why in the hell do they continue to wash them if the owners don't want them washed? You would think they like that. This way less work.

Love the big new sign.

Thankfully, I do not have any problems with my retailer washing my car for me... every employee knows me by name, and not because I complain about things... I don't. They know many of their customers by name... and most by at least face. They know what cars they have... and more. I notice this from hanging out in the service advisor bay and watching the interactions.

Also, I trust them with all things... they have techs that have been there for about 15 years... know Saturns like the back of their hands. In fact other Saturn shops have sent cars to them when the others couldn't figure an issue out. For example, one to the south of us had an SL2 that had it's airbag light on continuously. They had it for about 2 weeks and couldn't figure it out... the one here had it for about 4 - 5 hours and it was fixed. Found a relay in the line that was bad. I guess nothing beats experience.

They also only let 2 of their 5 techs work on Sky's with the exception of oil changes... and with those, the experienced tech is there to help lift the car.

Love my retailer!!!

You are so lucky - our dealership used to good but was bought out by one of those mega-dealers who owns bunches of dealerships.
Instead of keeping employees happy (who will in turn keep the customers happy) -
they seem to constantly have overturn in the service department.
On the rare occasion that they get someone in there who knows what they are doing - they leave pretty quick.
Heck - they have been known to send some Saturns over to thier Nissan dealership for service.

I'm new to this forum and have read many threads and one thing I have noticed is the people on the this forum keep their Sky's immaculate. That being said, why would Saturn even consider washing something that looks better then any new car they have sitting in the show room.

I took my Sky in for service yesterday.
I put my new sign in the windshield on the passenger side.
And they did they NOT wash my Sky
. . . heck the service manager who oversees all thier dealerships came over to check out the car & he just smiled and said hello when he discovered that it was mine. Everybody else in the service department is new - again .

What is the deal with turnover in the service department? Do they move on to bigger and better jobs or do they just suck and get fired?

Sometimes they get fired, sometimes they get moved to another dealership that is owned by the same guy
but the good ones end up moving on because the dealership owner sucks.

Every dealership this guy has bought has lots of problems.
I figure he will bleed as much money as he can out of them and then sell them to some new oblivious owner who will have to do backflips in order to overcome all the garbage this jerk created.
