are simoniz products any good?

I just saw a commercial for something called liquid diamond. It looked pretty interesting. Has anyone used this before? I'm worried about any chemicals it has that might damage the paint in the long run.

You weren't watching the MotoGP race, were you? My boyfriend was watching it, and I noticed there were a ton of commercials for detailing stuff.

I think it was during an episode of cops or some of the other intellectual programming I was watching today.

Simonize has been around for a long time. I would be willing to give their stuff a try. In the 50-60's Simonize was so popular that the phrase "Simonize your _____" meant you were waxing something.
As long as it is formulated for todays clear coats and stuff -- Why Not??

cool. Here's the website for the product I saw. www.simoniz.com. It has a video of the commercial on it too. For the low, low price of 19.95 you get the liquid diamond, a couple of microfiber mitts, and if you order within the next 30 seconds you get a free car vacuum too!

For 20 bucks I think I'll give it a try.

Simoniz is still behind the times and have yet to develop a synthetic paint sealant. Dupont is the maker of simoniz products and they are still pushing their "teflon" waxes, which has been proven to have negetive effects on the bonding properties of the wax. Any wax can only last 3-4 weeks anyway.

The best protection and long lasting shine you can get is a synthetic sealant with amino-functional silicones. This will actually form a chemical bond with your clearcoat and give you 4-6 months of protection. For more info check out this well written article:

Also, for those of you who are famimilar with Perfect Auto Finish (turbomangt's products) I am the new owner and look forward to providing you with the same quality products and service. If any of you ever have any detailing questions feel free to send me a pm, email, or check out the website.
