Small orange/red dots
I get these teeny little orange dots all over my hood and rear deck/spoiler and simply washing them with my microfiber mitt doesn't cut it. They come off when I clay the car, but don't really want to do that EVERY time the SKY needs a bath. They were also a problem on my yellow MR2 Spyder...so you'd think I'd be used to them by now...but they still frustrate the bejeebees outta me!
Anybody have any suggestions...other than a garage...that's not an option at this time. The house has a carport, which is where the baby is parked.

Has your car been exposed to pigs?

Seeing that you have a yellow car as well I have the exact same problem. It's definitely from the bugs. Waste or reside or whatever. I usually give her a good wash and then take the claybar to the few "trouble" spots. I have also found a wet finger gently rubbing in the area works well. It would seem that the yellow color looks like a food source to the bugs, and they are trying to "eat" the car. Too bad all they get to eat off my car is paint sealant.

No to factories...but I do live w/in 50 miles from agricultural fields. It IS Ohio and all
They do scrape off with fingernails, but there are a LOT of them and it seems a waste to use microfiber ANYTHING if I'm just going to scrape it with my fingernails. They are much smaller than the pic of bee droppings. No to the pigs, jayman. I haven't seen any difference between parking under the carport and in the driveway, unfortunately.

Try a magnifying glass....................
Maybe it will help ID the problem. Also, do you notice the stuff after you're driving, or after it's been sitting.
On a personal note, we've missed you on our last couple of runs. Hope to see you on the next one.

When it takes off, let everyone know as it will be the next "must have" accessory.

Couple questions on this.
Do you park your car outside your house? Do you park your car next to or close to an area with mulch? Have you replaced that mulch lately? What you might have is artillery fungus (aka shotgun fungus). It is a fungus that grows in mulch. And it shoots these small spores all over the place. If they are on your car they are mostly likely on your house also. They can shoot something like 20 feet in the air. Google artillery fungus and look at some of the articles. I had it before and have had the same issues you have. |

I saw a new SuperBee here the other day. I didn't know that Dodge was making a new version of it.
We were both admiring each other's cars. I told him that I hadn't seen a SuperBee in over 30 years (my cousin's boyfriend used to have one).

Thanks for that...between summer vacation and golf and school starting etc...just been a "busy bee" myself...even as my car may be morphing!!! I'm going to try to get to the next one. Now that I have my redline, I really want to hit the twisties!!! Quote:
near mulch...kinda...I was thinking that it's worse on the back of the car, which is closer to the mulch I changed that mulch in the spring...before I had the car. Quote:

After googling artillery fungus...it seems that this fungus could be in the ceiling of the wood carport as well. Hmmm...
Need to keep reading.

I'm gping with the bugs
Just throwin out suggestions, but I would go with the bugs or some other critters. Does your carport have lighting that you turn on at night? The lights can bring a lot of activity at night that can leave quite a mess the next day (insert your wise cracks here). Bugs, frogs, geckos, etc. I am not sure what you have in Ohio, but they all can leave their calling card.

It is Poop from Wasp's. It took me a while to figgure it out, I have the same problem. They are what we call mud dobbers here in southern IL. Check your rafters in the car port and I bet you find some. The only fix I can find is to wax every 3 weeks and they will wash off easy.
