What to Do Between Washes
What kind of care is recommended in between washes? I wash my Sky every other weekend and follow with Turtle Wax Ice liquid polish. In May before the Arizona heat really kicks in, I'm planning to clay, polish, wax.
When I first got my Sky, I thought maybe dry wiping it off in the garage after drives might be a good way to keep it clean, but after doing some reading, I'm apprehensive of putting tiny scratches into the paint by doing this, even if I'm using a microfiber towel. I drive just a few miles to/from work, mostly city streets and very little freeway, and rarely in the rain. The Sky just seems to get dusty after a couple of days. Should I ignore the dust until the next washing or should I use a detail spray afterI park it in the garage in the evenings? (Please don't shoot me if this has been asked before -- I promise I searched the archives for awhile before posting!) ![]()

Every afternooon when I get home I use a California Duster. It works great at keeping the 'in between washing' dust to a minimum.
I'll hit it with Ultimate Spray and Shine from Perfect Auto Finish once in a while. Ultimate Spray and Shine is good for getting the occasional bug or bird junk off the finish. PAF Poly Seal Spray once a month to sparkle up the finish and PAF Professional Paint Sealer a couple of times a year. After 28K miles my SKY looks better than showroom! Perfect Auto Finish - Kevin Traver - Auto Detailing is the place! Just my opinion and worth every penny you paid to get it ![]()

A California Duster is pretty good for a dusty car...not a dirty car, though...I also use the Ice products and Meguiar's detailing spray, too....there should be plenty of threads here on the forum regarding micro-fiber towels and fine scratches...which are more of a concern for owners of darker colors

I use the California Duster every day to keep it dust free. When it needs a little more I use Maguire's Quick Detailing Spray. I like Maquire's Car Wash
and Tek Wax for the big jobs. Trent, in our group is great at detailing. He walked me through my first official detail job and gave me lots of good advice. Good luck, can't wait to see you at our next event. Are you going to Carlos O'Brien's tomorrow. 3/18??? ![]() |

Mine car is black so I clean a lot. I use the CA duster every time before and after I drive. I like to use the Ice detaling spray between washings. I also use Ice car wash and polish. This answer don't count because I drive the car 3 or 4 times a week and wash it 2 times a week.

For my dads black sky. Since I take care of it. I don't use quick detailer or the california duster to. Cause I want to reduce my chance of leave swirls into the paint. This is why I use a compressor, Leaf blower and blot dry and water spots to reduce more chance of swirls and scratches.
