2.4 GT Downpipe: 5-18whp

2.4 GT Downpipe: $395

The 2.4GT downpipe fits all 2.4L Sky/Solstices that are equiped with the GT exhaust. Testing on 2.4L NA cars have shown a 5whp increase, while testing on 2.4L turbocharged engines have shown gains up to 18whp throughout the power band. The GT downpipe will fit all turbocharged 2.4L applications that have the factory catalytic convertor and our GT exhaust system.

What kind of HP increase are you seeing with the 2.0 downpipe and are you going to be offering some high flow cats in the future?

Our downpipe comes with a high flow cat or without a cat. With a cat, we have seen 7-10whp gains on the bottom and midrange (where it matters). With the race pipe (downpipe w/o cat), we saw a peak gain of about 18whp in the bottom end. With the race pipe, the power was a little more linear due to quicker spool up. VFX and Voodoo have both driven their cars with and without the downpipe (street version w/ cat). The best thing about it is, there is no necking down, etc. Other downpipes with high flow cats may mate to existing exhausts like the magnaflow, etc. where the flanges are made and sized to bolt to the factory 2.5" exhaust/cat. Our system is a full 3" and connects to the GT system via 3" v-band clamp.

The downpipe made a noticeable difference. The turbo spooled up much quicker, which made the car launch a bit quicker. fun.

It sure made a noticeable difference to my car. I tested the race pipe without the cat, and it was very nice. When hooked to my RPi GT Exhaust, it made the exhaust louder than the stock cat system. However, that is what I was looking for The louder the better for me

Finally I drown out those stupid ass honda civics, and leave behind any of those Evo's, lancers, 350z's, etc...

Speaking of which, this is an open invitation. Any of you guys who bought other products for your car from other manufacturers, and "think" it gave you +X HP for whatever you paid with those other guys, come meet me or chris out a willow springs. I guarantee I will smash you on the track . Finally, we can compare numbers in a meaningful way! track times . Just don't get upset if I lap you.

With Love,
Steven

VooDooNOFX - Is there any way that you could put a video clip with audio on YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. so that we can hear how load the exhaust is with the proto type down tube and the race pipe?

The prototype and production pipes really shouldn't be compared. As soon as I get my 2.0 pipe, i'll post something in here. It did make it a lot louder in my opinion, but that's what I love about it.

That is cool I have been looking for an exhaust that is louder than the stock exhaust. Way to quiet to be a convertable sports car. I have been looking at the RPI exhaust and intercooler. It is good to see that there could be a complete exhaust system in the future including the down pipe and race pipes. I would be nice to see some numbers on a dyno and a video clip with the sound. You guys are doing good things out there in CA... keep it up...

P.S. how can i get one of the RPI badges to replace my Saturn symbol on the back of my Redline?

Yeah, we do not sell or give out the RPi badges.

Anyhow, the downpipes for the 2.0 redlines will be out in about 1 week. We also have our 2.0R2 power package for the redline being tested this week. 2.0R2 (stage 2) packages include our intercooler and exhaust so those who have the two already can just purchase the tune. With tuning, you will be able to get another 30-40whp safetly.

Do you have the "kit" pricing determined yet? And does the 2.0R2 package include the downpipe?

Yes, the entire package comes with intercooler, exhaust, downpipe and tune. Cold air intake is optional. The package will be around $3500.

Is the tune a HP Tuners or BSR variant or other?

The only reason I didn't get the RPI exhaust is because the Magnaflow came out first and I was too impatient. I am seriously thinking of making the switch though especially with the downpipe coming out.

I have their intercooler and it rocks! RPI will most likely be hearing from me soon. Keep up the great work!
