We got the power without cams. Also, we are not increasing the rev limit and found no need to upgrade the valvetrain for this amount of power.

I see you do not talk about a header for this car, Have you tried anything with a header, or had a Sky/Sol on your dyno with a header. I am very curious about the gain. I tried asking about them them but the discussion seemed to fade away. I think Clear Image had some issues & I never got a reply back from Saturn Motorsports about selling a header and not the header/ engine cover package. I would also like to see a cooler thermostat for this car as well do you see any of this in RPI's future?

Not at this time. We have tried some on other cars that gave no improvement at all. The cams got to match how the motor is set up. I will keep you guys posted if something becomes available that is beneficial.
The intake, exhaust and tune will work on the automatic but hp results may vary. Quote:

I can't see why a header would cause any problems as long as the O2 sensors are reinstalled.

Your car will be dyno tuned while you watch (thats if you don't get bored), hood closed, no ice on the pipes, etc. We never run the cars on the dyno while engine is not at normal operating temperatures. Your gained hp run wont be done at 100F coolant temps, etc.

We are waiting for a redline to come in so we can test a new tune.
So, if you are in the area, let me know.

This package is what we've done to my car. I wanted a specific sporty feel, but didn't want to get too aggressive with the tune and hardware swaps. It's a balancing act full of tradeoffs, but I wanted to keep the mods safe and reliable. As that's consistent with Eloy's thinking as well, we're both happy and comfortable with this present combination. It can be pushed more, but at this level my car finally feels pretty good to me. |

We use only the OEM rear fascia. For now, it is included in the price.

People usually ship their cars to us. We have a few from the east coast. You can install the exhaust yourself, but thats about it. Everything else is done in house here.

New Dyno #s. Stock 2.4 vs. RPi goodies + Dyno Tune
Hers the link showing 125. Thats a heck of a difference. I also would like to know why the difference. I believe they use the same Dyno machine in a somewhat climate controlled environment. Maybe it's fuel quality related? I would also like to see if there is a difference between the automatic & standard transmissions. |
