How does this product know what RPM you're at if it doesn't plug into anything else?

It picks up the RPM signal from the 12v current going to the cig lighter adaptor. I have personally tested it and it works great. First you plug the unit in, put the car in nuetral, rev to whatever rpm you want the shift light to go on, adjust the knob so that the light turns on and youre set to go. It's got a fine adjustment for the rpm shift point as well as light brightness.

Ooooo that's pretty spiffy. Might have to pick one of these up when I get some spare $$.

Old Men need " Shift Lights "

That is the easiest install shift light I have ever seen...priced right too...
