Kappa Windscreens Introduction.

Hello everyone. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my company. My name is Ray and my company is Kappa Windscreens, web site is www.kappawindblade.com.

I have been in business since Jan 2006, making and marketing windscreens for the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky. As those of you who are on both the Solstice and Sky forums may already know, I became a supporting vendor of the Solstice forum this past summer. Having done a great deal of business with SF members, which I appreciate greatly and thank you for, I and Kappa Windscreens have become a supporting vendor of this forum.

Our marketing plan remains the same. We will offer the highest quality screens with the easiest installations at the best prices- no need to wait for sales or discounts. You get our best prices from the get go.

About our products. We offer custom designed screens as well as stock screens. For custom screens you can submit files of drawings/pictures to me at rayzol@netzero.com or for eps files rzolich@inbox.com. Also, if you want to discuss a design you can call me at 216-374-4927. Artists and graphic artist are also available for design help and questions.

We currently offer several designs, which are Sky and Sky Redline specific. These include the Saturn emblem and Sky logo.

Because Kappa Windscreens offers such a large variety of screens, I am often asked to explain the differences among our windscreens.

Basically, we offer 4 TYPES of screens: LASER-ECTHED ONLY, MULTI-COLOR LASER-ETCHED, LASER-INLAID, COLORED, (and any combination of these).

LASER-ETCHED SCREENS- These screens offer the opportunity to produce beautiful images in fine detail. These can be either lighted or not. The downside is that during the day when most people drive their cars, one can only see the white etched lines, which can be somewhat hard to see. At night when a lit screen is hit with headlights from behind or overhead by street lamps, the led light on the etching disappears due to the lack of darkness. Driver rearward visibility, however, is usually good as much of the acrylic etching is thin lines and can be seen "through and around" even in detailed images. Some people seem to prefer the abstract look of a etched screen lit with 1 or 2 colored led lights.

Simple Laser-Etched Screen:

MULTI-COLOR LASER-ETCHED screens offer color during daylight that etched only screens do not. Further, they light up generally very well at night. Currently, most colors can be baked into a screen, with a few such as green being harder to create than others. As this technology evolves new colors will be able to be added to the list of choices. The biggest negative of multi-color laser-etched screens is that they can not be seen through- they are not transparent. On a small design this may be insignificant, but on large images the driver's rearward vision can be seriously restricted.

Multi-Color Laser-Etched Screen:

INLAID (patented) screens, which have transparent laser-cut colored acrylic shapes and pieces "set into the screen," feature color during the day, when most driving is done, with an unobstructed rear view for the driver. The downside here is that not all inlaid screens can be lit. It depends on the design.

Inlaid Screens:

Transparent Yellow Screen With Laser-Cut Transparent Inlay:

Some screens can incorporate etching and inlays and be lit, while offering the advantages of both types of screens.

Etching/Inlay Combo

I am looking forward to working with Sky members on your screen inquiries. I will be making more posts in the near future to further explain our capabilities, product features and promotions. Please feel free to post questions, whether here or via email.

Thanks for your attention.

Welcome!

Looks like your product is taller than either Wind Restrictor or the Kappashere offering.

I don't know if you know, but on your website you repeatedly spelled "awsome" wrong. It is not spelled "awesum".

I would get that fixed right away.

Thanks. Our screen follows the curve angle of the humps a little more closely. Screen apex height is roughly even to the seats' tops. May block a bit more wind. The screen can stay in place when the top is raised. Ray.

Well looks like I had it right. Awesome is spelled with 2 "e"s according to MW's online dictionary. What a great guess .

We use 1/4" thick acrylic. Screen is roughly 30-32 inches long and about 8-9 inches high.

...hand slaps head...

Mine was a typo. You may not be good at slang, but I'm not good at typing.

Ok, for the record it is spelled, "A W E S O M E"

By the way, nice product.

Thanks. Give us a try if you decide you want a second screen. I like to think of screens like hats. One day a golf hat works, another day a bandana works.
