Is it similar in design to the one on your website now and what will the cost be?

Sorry for the not posting up pics earlier. I will get to that today. Meanwhile take a look at our website. The new luggage rack looks and mounts the same way. The only difference is that it sits forward of the On Star Antenna and Spoiler.

I'll tell you, I've purchased several hundreds of dollars worth of goods from Kappasphere with nothing but terrific service and a company that really stands behind their products. I don't work for them and I don't do this that often but these guys are terrific to do business with. Thanks for providing the great products and services you provide to your customers. It's not easy being an entrepreneur and we certainly realize that your business has taken a risk by creating products for a car that is limited in availability so I hope that someway you gain enough business supported by great customer service that you will be successful working with our great community here at Skyroadster.com

Sorry, just have to get a few things off my chest. I have an original luggage rack in my garage that will never be put on my Solstice again. The instructions that came with the rack were awful. I've read instructions in broken Chinese that were more clear. After a struggle, my wife and I got the rack mounted on the decklid and it looked very good. We went on a West Coast Kappa Car Club event about 100 miles north of here with a light duffle bag on the rack strapped down with leather straps bought from the rack's manufacturer. The next day, during the run with no load on the rack, I noticed that the bolts that hold the two bottom pieces together were working loose. I tightened them up. The following morning I put the duffle bag back on the rack and checked that the bolts were all tight. When we got home we saw that one of the bolts on the bottom had worked loose and had banged a big dent in the lid and scrapped off paint. Both Brian and Neil know this story. Brian gave me a package of loctite that I put on and waited 3 days (the bolt was still loose). The rack, in my opinion, is defective. Neil offered to exchange it for the new style but now the people at Kappasphere are telling you that I must have done something wrong. The design of the rack is wrong. There is no way that a bolt should go in from the bottom. The only way it can be checked iis to take the rack off of the car. There is only about one eighth of an inch clearance between the bottom of the bolt and the decklid. Before the trip we had the car at Kappasphere and they thought the rack looked very good. A new rack doesn't really appeal to me. I've already spent seven hundred dollars between the rack and the repair. The design of the brackets has not changed. I've sort of made up my mind that the only safe rack is a permanent install like a lot of the old roadsters had anyway.![]() |
