Does your tune rev to 7k rpm and does it have anything comparable to launch control?
That would be great info to have. Eloy, is Saturn of Danbury CT doing this upgrade??

The first thing I noticed with my tune is a quicker throttle response. WOT will get up to 7k. Launch control...if you're talking about the stuff the high-end Ferrari's have, no.

The other tune has it set when the vehicle is stopped, the clutch is down, and the throttle is on the floor it revs to exactly 4500rpm which is a "perfect" launch rpm in a Sky Redline.

No where near as advanced as a Ferrari's launch control but pretty interesting none the less.

ah, I don't think it does, at least not in mine. Could be because mine is an auto...

Yeah, it has to be a manual. It's a pretty neat drag racing trick. You only have to worry about to clutch instead of the gas as well. You just slowly slip the clutch into gear and it gets you a near perfect launch every time.

The 0-60 times are inacurate also since I pull a 4.1sec 0-60 on a V-box (gps tracked) compared to a 3.8sec (dashawk). Those numbers dont mean much other than to post something or brag to someone else. The power difference is there and different people are going to get different 0-60 and 1/4 times (mainly because of driver error or launch techniques). BTW, I know for a fact that my car didnt do a 3.8sec because of wheel spin.

The problem is I have NO comparison point vs. any other aftermarket setups. Everyone has a different dyno so those numbers can't be compared, measuring the 0-60 doesn't work because that's inaccurate, and anyone can get a good/bad launch at the track... but you have to give us something to work with. Has anyone with an R1 setup taken it to the track for some 1/4 mile times (other than SCVanguard going soon)? It may not be the most accurate but at least it's something to go by.

Two more questions: is the stock turbo capable of providing enough airflow (and is it efficient enough) to make 7k RPM worth spinning too, or is that simply so you don't have to get out of second to make it to 60mph. And does your tune support the launch control feature that the BSR tune has?

BTW: Just a quick thought, you should make "badges" that go after the redline on the back that say R1, R2, etc. It'd be cool to have something to show.

How many people use Dyno Dynamics dyno to show graphs? No one, because most of the companies out there want to show you a high number. We dont do that. The DD numbers are enough for you to compare or get an idea with. Ive raced a 350whp car with a car that we dynoed at 280whp (on our dyno) and completely destroyed it.

The badges are quite costly and we didnt want to add additional costs to our packages.

What is going on with this R2 package? Is it still happening or are we dead in the water? Any info would be appreciated.

OK, you have laid somewhat of a challenge by posting comments of other's dyno performance based on your claims of one dyno versus another. As an engineer (technical) in the automotive industry for 20+ years, I can skew the numbers 30% by changing a few base parameters on a dyno. I have a few questions:

Is the company that provides your dyno QS 9000 or TS 16949 certified?
Is the dyno (or company) ASME certified?
Is the dyno calibrated on a regular basis (TS 16949 requires every 6 months)?

BTW, I do know other companies that wiil provide certification and calibration documents on their dynos upon request.

We use a Dyno Dynamics Dyno Dyno Dynamics - Home
Last update was April of this year, calibrated by Aussie Imports. The peak numbers dont concern me at all as they are mostly used as bragging rights for people on the forums and what not. Our main concern is testing gains from mods and tunes. So, it wouldnt matter that one car did 200whp and one car did 220whp. We want to make sure that whatever is done on the car is giving gains.
