And no, I do not mean only under boost. She feels happier now under ALL conditions. That MAY be that I am happier now that she sounds more like a REAL sports car..... Clif

Not to be a pooper, but what this graph shows is that we lose intial HP and torque by 7-14 hp and gain it all in the rev range starting at 3000rpm. This is probably the best case scenario for an exhaust, intercooler and tune on a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder. But, I'd be a bit worried to lose any initial power for a daily driver. Yes your gaining a lot at the top, but I usually shift around 3250 in regular driving and around 4000rpm for spirited driving. I do "race" it every once in a while, but for a 4 cylinder, initial torque and power are important. I can see that Eloiy really worked to keep as much initial torque and power as he could. Typically when tuners start working on a 4-cylcinder engine, they sacrifice all the initial power for higher rev range power, because most people don't get to see graphs like Eloiy shows us, and they end up buying high end power figures only.

Hey all,
That's my car being tested so I wanted to give my input. I went over to RPI yesterday to drive around with the newest tune. Instead of my normal 100 yard pulls down the front of RPI I went on an interstate drive (the 710 in SoCal) with Eloy. The car pulled much harder in the high RPM's in 4th gear. We all know the car is a beast in 2nd and 3rd but it felt strong all the way to 5000rpm+ in 4th. My biggest complaint is that way too many slow cars were in the left lane. I'm not saying I pulled on a BMW 335ci...but I did. (pulled in a street legal MPH way) Yes, Nemesis, I did notice a low torque hit. And, yes I missed it. I drove around with the previous tune for a week(the before on the dyno) and loved it. RPI and crew are adjusting for it this week. To be fair, they only did a couple of dyno runs before I got antsy and wanted to dyno/test run the car. I only live a few miles away from them so I will leave it there till they fine tune it. **Eloy took some video with his camera, so hopefully it isn't too shakey to post** Now that the R1 tune is done, I am going to leave my car with them and beg them to put the larger turbo/custom manifold on (R2 package). SoCal folks, I can't make the run Saturday, I'll be in mammoth snowboarding. But, feel free to bug Eloy about it. I'm sure the car will be at his shop for a while. sorry Eloy ... c Quote:

LOL - thats funny, on my car i tuned up the torque in the lows and mounted 20" rims with much better tires because of the problem with the wheel spin. ![]()

so your telling me what my car is doing? yet your not behind the wheel...... you should go into business with that talent you have! ..
computer has not been touched.. it is the placement of the sensor that made it not throw a code.. the lower sensor is on a pipe about 8 to 12 inch long.. ask eloy he can explain... SO YES WAY

The placement of the O2 sensor was how we were able to get past the CEL for those who want the race pipe. No tune is needed for this.
Cant we all just get along? ![]()

I thought i would let everyone know that I just got my down pipe put on, thi may not seem special but it was with the magnaflow 3" exhaust. The guys doing it found it a little bit of a pain but they made it work. The exhaust is fully welded from down pipe to tips, one solid exhaust. Just to add it cost $260 to do the install. This seemed to be a decent price as it took them almost three hours to do it. They had to do a little bit of cutting and a new bracket and full weld.
anyone else have install prices?

Has anyone with the downpipe & exhaust found time to make a video yet (or did I just fail to find the post)?
