RPi GT Downpipe / High Flow Cat. New Dyno Graphs

After a 1000 miles from our last dyno session, we brought Steve's car back for another dyno session to see if there was any power lost from the ecu adjusting. We were happy to see that his power gains were still the same, in fact it was only a 1whp difference. Off the dyno and up on the lift, the GT downpipe was installed for dyno testing.

Eloy, I am a total dumb ass here so please help me understand the corrections between the graphs and what it all means. It appears that the graphs on the "uncorrected" graph do not match up with the color codes listed. It looks like the green or blue graph numbers are lower than the stock numbers.

Ah oops, I should have changed the color names on the DD graphs. The lowest graph is stock + gt exhaust, with the intercooler we got +25whp. With the downpipe we got + 9whp.

Steve has done a lot of research between the two dynos and I think he started a post on it.

OK, that helps me. I will try and find Steves post on the difference in the graphs. Thanks again.

Another impressive product. Whats the difference besides the metal matrix cat versus the stock piece, any side by side pics?

The cat we use is totally custom made and it NOT an off the shelf unit like others. That is why we did not experience CELs. Steve is going to put some miles on the car so we can confirm the results compared to mine.

The downpipe definately changed the sound of the car. Its really hard to describe, but the best way I can say it is that it sounds pissed off. lol Like it wants to eat some S2000s. hehehehe

Quite a bit! My car sounds a lot like Brutus now. I really like it. The ricers on the streets of So Cal didn't want any today! haha

Custom specced for this application, but it came off SOME mfr's shelf at some point in time I'm sure, haha. What I was referring to was the downpipe diameter/bends/material versus the stock piece. Is the stock one 304 stainless as well? Also if its sold flanged, open end, or what. If you have one laying around, snap a few pics.

Actually, no. It WAS custom made for us. I can assure you its not an off the shelf part. We go with a company that makes the best catalytic convertors and had them make a custom cat for us. We were able to use the same high flow cat we use on our 911tt exhaust.

You'll need quicker spool up and power through out the powerband if you want to get to 60 quicker. Maybe NOS?

Nothing says "surprise" like a little yellow sky that gets no respect from the ricers until I turn it on and all they see is tail lights. haha

So I went to the Autobaux in So Cal, and there were s2000's, STI's, and the like. Some of the ppl walked by and were like "That's a sky, pssst." Well, sorry to say they didn't keep that crap up for long once I started it up. Like Eloy said, it sounds angry now. When I came out of the parking lot, I saw an s2000 rip up behind me like he wanted to, well, you know. So I revved it a little, and when the light hit green, he just limped away from it. hahahaha

It's going to save me from street racing, and getting a ticket. (which I'm sure some of you are happy about)

No, you wont really notice it until you are on the freeway. Around 2500-3000, there is a little drone.

I would also add that it's probably 20-30% louder during normal drive times, but I've only been driving it for 1 day!
