2.4 engine swap

Have to change out my 2.4 engine on my wife's sky.
I've been offered a 2.4 with ENGINE 2.4L VIN B 8TH DIGIT OPT LE5 CALIF EMISSIONS OPT NU1.
Mine does not have calf emissions. can they still be swapped?

Thanks
Patrick

My guess is that yes it can be done. I have never read on any of the forums of issues with California only engines. My understanding is that the ECM tune is Ca unique.

I think just about every car was built with CA Emissions installed. I've never seen one offered with and without.

What are you doing with the old engine? What happened to it?

A family member who, I will not name, the primary driver neglected to tell me "they" were adding water to the radiator every few weeks.
on my part I didn't check before I put it away for winter. now water in oil, oil in water. Put new head gasket on no better probably a cracked block.
The cars in such good shape and I've done swap's before.
the Sky does not list NU1 on plate the donner car does. I thought it maybe a different head or air injection on manifold etc.

Damn. Was going to see about getting the old engine from you for a build but a cracked block is no good for that.

What year is your car and what year is the donner?

2009 base with auto trans.
Swap went well didn't need to remove the transmission, left air conditioner, transmission, and power steering lines intact so I didn't have to drain.

Started up first try, the second try nothing. I started a NO START thread hope someone can help.

FWIW, the couple of times you have tried that "bat signal" trick using my forum handle, it didn't do anything for me. Is this something that can be turned on or off in the settings? Notifications?

I'm curious.

Never mind! It's called a "Mention" and I have them disabled in my settings. The settings on this board are a world apart from the settings available on the Solstice board. Check it out since you are a member of both boards.

I'll have to look at that but I'm not sure I've sent up a bat signal for you...says 0 mentions under your avatar. Let's see...

@DaveOC

Yep, still says 0. LOL So maybe I have and you're right, it won't work on you.

I have the following checked by default after the new software was installed:

Hide Mention Alerts

"Mentions" are not even available on the Solstice version of this software, can't turn them on or off as they don't exist over there.

I started looking into this stuff when I was getting Quote notifications all the time over on Solsticeforum whenever I'd quote someone else or was quoted by someone else. I didn't get them on this forum. I finally found the settings feature of the new forum software and turned all that stuff off on Solsticeforum, but didn't need to turn it off here as it defaulted to being off.

I'm trying to remember which thread it was that you did send up a couple of bat signals for me, but it was what started off my search to find what was supposed to happen when you did that. It was then I discovered that all my default settings were set to "hide" whatever the setting was: mentions, tags, and quotes.

Didn't think it would. I think they all came with the same emissions.
