Adjusting the rear deck lid

I've adjusted my deck lid up and down using the two adjusting (had to modify the passenger side) screws to ensure it's flush with the fender panels, but now I need to adjust it from side to side (not front to back). It actually has rubbed paint off the leading edge of the lid against the fender body panel. I don't see any visible adjustment points, so do I just loosen the 4 bolts that secure the lid to the hinges to adjust it or is there some other method to employ?

The manual says open the trunk and push it to the side.

Yeah, no, that didn't work. I tried that yesterday after I dremelled the screw on the passenger down 1/8th of an inch to get it lower.
