Antenna sucks!

I have the stock radio (non-Monsoon) but the radio reception sucks! Any advice on how to get a better signal? I added a new amp, speakers and sub, so the cd/ipod sound great...but I can't get a decent radio channel to save my life...even in downtown Houston!

Me thinks your antenna signal is not getting to your radio amplifier; must be a disconnect or the radio amp itself is bad. The stock antenna is obnoxiously long for a reason.....it works!

Check to see if you have a Local / Distance button. I'll check my wifes car. That may have an effect

Send a message via AIM to ggccg
and make sure your antenna is screwed down tight.

You must have a wiring or component issue somewhere. I unscrewed my factory antenna the day I picked up my R/L because I didn't like the looks of it. It's been in the trunk ever since and I've not put a replacement on. I mostly listen to XM, MP3's and CD's but the few times I wanted to listen to the radio, local stations came in loud and clear with no antenna....

The reception isnt that great from the start on our cars, when an 18 wheeler drives past me the reception gets weaker. Nothing you can do about it.

I have a little stub and get great reception here in Virginia.

I'm talking radio frequency reception, not affectionate reception.

If you are not getting reception in the Houston area then you have a wiring problem - located somewhere between the connections of the radio & antenna.

We have the opposite problem. Our reception is perfect but the stations suck. They're all owned by Clear Channel. Ray

Is Clear Channel everywhere? They seem to own the Tampa area also, that's why I have XM.
You must have a problem, in Houston you should have excellnt reception at all times.

Nothing is any good when you have a guy with a 50 Watt Linear transmitter sitting next to you.

If I hear Foreigner's "Hot Blooded" one more time, I'm going to see how the Monsoon headend unit takes a hollowpoint from three inches. Ray
