Car Audio Make-over

Its about time i give my horrid stock audio system a face lift. I've been looking at the projects some of you have done on here, adding subwoofers and tweeters but i dont really want to remove my stock head unit or modify any of the interior panels. I just want a lil more bass and clearer mid/top. My question is, by only replacing the stock speakers with the same size high quality aftermarket speakers, will i get any better sound or is it just a waste of time? Also, what are the stock door speakers size and would it be better to go with component door speakers and a new tweeter/crossover system or, save some cash and leave the stock tweeter but go with full range door speakers. srry for the lenthy post, any feedback is greatly appreciated!

The door speakers are 6.5". I'd go with component set for doors and tweeders/crossovers. You will definetly get better sound. gmroadster.com has a bass kit you could get. Do you have Monsoon system?

Then you'll have to cut behind the passenger seat to add the subwoofer if you go that route. You could still add an amp and put it behind the driver's seat, no cutting if that's what you wanted. Then you'd really have some nice sound. Of course you have to match up your amp to your speakers to get optimum power and sound quality.
