Convertbal top broken

I notice that the passenger side of my top by the rear side panel of the car looked saggy.
I checked it out and found that there is a bar inside that holds tension on the roof so it fits snug against the glass was disconnected.
Lower section by the door jam, is a little hook, the bar holds this in place.
I looked at the other side and found that that side was ready to go as well.
Neither side seemed to be screwed in well causing one side to pull out.
Both ballpeen clips are streached out from tension.

Wonderiing if anyone else had this problem?

Also getting rub from deck lid on passenger side, noticed foam pad missing from stop block.

There is a tech sevice bullitan on the rods for the top. As to the foam rubber on the top hold down while the top is stowed in the trunk, the dealership will fix that item....Skip...

Bring it in..... They will fix it. I had mine replaced and so has a few other people. Don't let them tell you that you are the only one with this problem either. Good Luck. T.

Thanks for all the quick replies.

This dealership has had more service managers than I have oil changes

so I hope they do what's right, I am in a catch 22 they own the other 3 dealerships in the area.

Does anyone know how I can view any service bulletins on the rag top?

Over on the Solstice Forum there is a member called "Small Dealer" he/she has a thread regarding service bulletins. Here's one I remembered...
Convertible Top Will Not Stow/Difficult to Raise/Windnoise/Waterleak - Pontiac Solstice Forum
Don't know if it address your top trouble right now but it's a start!
(There's a lot of other great information from him that will help you in the future)

No problem, hope it helps. I had my top replaced last Fall because of the ripping issues. No hassles from the dealer, they replaced the complete frame and it took them less then a day. The mechanic mentioned that he was reading the instructions the night before and worrying about it, afterwards he said it was a very easy exchange. Some are repairing the frame and replacing the canvas. With the cost of labor and skill level required, if the fabric is ripped, I can't see how that's better than just bolting in a complete assembly and moving on.....

Can you believe that I am getting another new convertible top. This #3. A fews ago I had it replaced. Brought it back to have it adjusted because it was leaking and the rubber molding wasn't fitted correctly. Anyways the dealership called my yesterday and told me that they are replacing it again. Oh well.... I rather they keep my SKY until its fixed correctly. T.
