Dam.... I finally did it!!!!

Yep I finally did it!
OMG…. I am so pissed off at myself. I curb my front bumper. What a loser. My hubby finds out this, I will be in deep trouble. I am missing all the plastic screw tabs too, so the under panel just hangs. I just fixed the side panel. Oh dear….. I’ll have to get it fixed when I get some time. I hate myself today!!!!! This is my first boo boo I did to SNOW WHITE. I am hoping to get the plastic tabs put in before my trip to the Speedie fest which is in NY this week-end.
See ya, I got to see if I can get it fixed. T.

Welcome to the Kappa Curb Club>>> Sucks the first time, would not know about the second time. I feel for ya. Blame it on a curb rolling into your car.

Theresa...listen carefully

we've all done it

last month when i was washing Merlin i noticed the air dam hanging down and some of the screws had gone missing

I took it into the dealership because those screw are NOTORIOUS for vibrating loose

The dealership replaced the middle 4 screws with j-clips and self tapping metal screws (10mm)...and all 4 of the outer screws were replaced by metal rivets

I'm the only one that notices it...cause no one else really looks down there

AND IT WAS ALL FREE 'cause I have a great dealership.

Just go down and ask them to replace the useless plastic screw with
10mm self tappers....you don't have to say anything about the curb. They have seen that on so many cars they won't know if it was yesterday or a month ago that the scrape happened.

Just be sweet and nice to them and they should do it for free.

let me know

The only thing worse than hearing that terrible "scrap" sound - is the sound you hear backing off the darn curb.

Went to the garage that fixed my side panel and presto it is fixed. He put some plastic screw in and the underneath liner is back where it belongs. He didn't charge me anything either. Yahoo! I have touch up paint that I bought from the dealership and I touched up the stratch marks. I will have the bumper fixed later.
If you think I started this thread for sympathy YOUR RIGHT! I feel so much better that I am not alone. It's been 2 years and 1 month and I made no boo boo on Snow White. I just knew it was going to happen. And like Ruthie said.... I was way up on the curb and backing off of it made me sick.
I am getting my convertible replaced next week and I will have the dealership look at it.
Jlans... I didn't even know there was a Kappa Curb Club. I guess I am a member now.

Hubby didn't even notice, so I am happy. Got to run...... Hugs T.

You know my center front end will soon be painted black because it is now more black than silver (color of car). I have been so careful not to get the front on a curb when parking but you (or I) can't hear it. Wife has said for years "get a hearing aid, mabey I should take her advice....naw cheaper to paint! I posted this on another thread relating to the same topic but a first timer, it fits here as well..

I have done it also but eventually you will be able to feel the distance and chances of it happening will be nil unless of course something distracts you. Then the appropriate slang words will apply, the dread to look will overcome you, emotional feelings will overtake you, your head will fall onto the steering wheel, a tear will squeeze out of your left eye, the last emotional level well be acceptance with a firm commitment to yourself that s-it ain't going to happen again. But it will

"Initiated" Casper within 10 days of purchase.

Parking curbs too high ..... Casper front end - too low. Still getting used to all the angles of parking.

If it make you feel any better, after scrapping mine about a month into ownership (September 07), I haven't done it since.

Oh, and one more thing about the angles. Anyone else notice the bit of optical illusion you get when attempting to line up laterally during parking using the door frame as reference. Most cars have flat lines, so lining up the the door lines to the outside lines will line you up in the parking spot. Do this in the SKY, and you wind up crooked. It takes time to adjust to the slant angle when parking. Now that I've adjusted for the angle in my SKY, I now park crooked in my Focus.
