Missy is almost 2 and she has never had to have one replaced. I am not sure but I think Ernest had to have one replaced on either Serenity or Mayhem.

My Sky's doorplate is lifting too.

I was interested in checking my Sky's doorplate too after reading this thread, and after seeing the Brand New,On display Red Sky 2.4 at the Cleveland Auto show yesterday, have this same lifting doorplate problem.
Today I checked my Sky and both sides have lifted. I'm not happy. Maybe this Spring when the new glue that solves this problem is found,I'll get mine re-glued. why not at the factory put two screws in the doorplate to hold it down?

T. you know,I left the auto show and as I exited I turned left, after going less that 1/8 mile the guy waved me off the right side and he pointed out a sign just ahead showing 25 MPH speed limit. so there had to be a sign right at the drive that I entered the four lane,I might have not seen that sign,I did see the sign that he pointed out that was ahead. I still had not reached that point and was not aware of the 25MPH limit at that time. Me being from way out in the country,I figured ,four lanes....got to be 45-50MPH.
P.S. I was at the AUTO Show! of course he would assume I was drinking heavily.
He even saw that my eyes were a little red and offered to check with a breathalizer test
I agreed but my eyes must have started to clear, because he told me I could continue on my way.

I was out & about yesterday and suddenly the traffic went from 40mph (the speed limit) to about 25mph - ;
as I get a little further up I see the nose of a cop car waiting to turn onto the main road
and then I notice the city name and laugh cuz it is from one town over even though it is the same colors -
& on top of that - it's a mechanic driving.

Geesh - seems people can't see, or read, & can't remember what the last speed limit sign said if they had bothered to look at it. Yeesh.

If you are referring to my not seeing the speed limit sign,I still can see,and believe it or not, able to read. And still able to remember some too.I DO bother to look for speed limit signs,as I don't like to get tickets for speeding.
I may have not been as clear in my post as I should have been, but I don't think from the drive that I exited the IX Center,to the point that the guy motioned me over to point to the sign that was up ahead, that there WAS a speed limit sign.
By the way, there was no police car in sight,This person was directing traffic,The only indication that he had any authority was the stocking cap that he was wearing. It had the word "Sheriff" across the top and the reflective color vest.

I was NOT referring to you - I was referring to the annoying drivers of the cars in front of me heading south in 4 friggin' lanes that suddenly braked and slowed down to a crawl because they had failed to note any of the speed limit signs along the 5 mile stretch before they thought they saw a cop (who wasn't a cop AND was in another town's car if they had bothered to glance at the HUGE print on the side of the car.).
This particular stretch of road is 8 lanes wide with speed limit signs posted about 1/2 mile apart on both sides of the road.
My point is that the traffic was not going over the speed limit and these fools all panicked, causing several near-misses as a couple of these fools swerved - all because they had not paid attention

I understand your point, I took your last sentence as being aimed at me personally, and what happened when I left the IX Center.( Auto Show).
I must be still upset with the wanna-be traffic cop.
There was to my knowledge no speed limit sign from where I entered the four lane highway,to the point where I was directed to the side of the road. There was very little traffic at that time.I felt my speed was reasonable.
I will make an effort to take a trip to that spot as soon as possible in my Sky(won't happen until much better weather) to verify if there is or isn't a sign at that point where I entered the four lane.
My apologies, Sir. peace out

I spoke to Joe at JPM about this the other night and he hinted that his partner may be experimenting with a replacement piece that was better looking and more sturdy.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

2008 Sky door step plate

T,
My chrome step plate has lifted too. Both sides,Driver's side and Passenger too.
these pictures are both taken of the Driver's side.
the glue does not hold the thin strip down,I don't step on this "chrome" part as I enter/exit my Sky. good thing, but wouldn't matter. crap glue, is part of the problem.

My 2008 Sky has this exact same problem. Did the dealership take care of replacing the door plate or did you have to go to Corporate.

Just got mine fixed today. They were not as bad as the one in the first pics, but they were starting to come off. The Service guy told me that he has seen those before and it is not fixed... SteveSky67

Are there any other options for this? I would love to find something else to stick in that area other than a Saturn logo. How about Sky logo or Redline for those with that option? What does the Pontiac use?

Having forgotten what this thread was all about, I jump in after a few weeks and read this reply absent the original context.
