That's what I used last time I changed mine! they work fine, just make sure you have ones with a long s lope up. You could just add some 2x4's in front to start if you need to! I use them for my Avalanche too!

which kind of synthetic oil is recommended? like brand wise? Mobil1?

also i dont have Adobe Reader, so i cant read your PDF file with changing oil

should it not just be like any other oil change? unplug, change filter, plug, fill with oil?

I work at an oil change shop so i have my tools ready...

I dont know about yours, but my oil cap has Mobil 1 printed on it. In the manual it says:
"Your vehicles engine requires a special oil meeting GM standard GM4718M such as Mobil 1 or equivalent." Page 5-16 of the 2008 Manual.

That is for the Redline, the 2.4 L just says 5W-30. To the best of my knowledge that is just Dino, not synthetic.

Will DIY oil change effect the factory warranty?

Now I know why this forum is so helpful. I was doing my first oil change and tried like you know what to find the oil filter. Well, then I found it and wondered how in the heck was I going to get it out without making a huge mess or screwing something up. Fortunately, I bought some snap-on sockets 2 years ago because the snap on guy said hey you will need these shallow well sockets to change oil filters for GM cars in the future. Well thanks to the instructions and the right socket it went well. Next time it will go fast. Agree with changing warm/cool if possible. Recommend "mechanix" gloves as there are some sharp objects around. Thanks again for the heads up information... CH

Thanks! They work on the Avalanche great. The Sky rubs so I need to find some different ones. I may try two by fours but concerned the Rhino ramp isnt sitting flat. I may have found a set on line

Turn Front Wheels, No Ramps Needed......

I changed the oil in my Sky Redline last weekend. I found if I turned the front wheels all the way to the right, I could reach under from behind the right front tire and easily remove the install the oil drain plug without ramps. My drain pan just fit under the car, too. So no ramps or blocks or boards needed. I used a Purolator Pure One oil filter and 5 quarts of Mobil 1 5W-30 oil, then reset the oil life program.
