First Oil Change for SKY4ME

Just finished first oil change. 2200 miles. Redline.
Went to Walmart and got the Mobile 1 fully synthetic 5W30 for $19.99 plus tax 5 quart container. Got the AC-Delco oil filter from a chevrolet dealership $5.89 total

Made a set of ramps out of some scrap 2X6 angle cut and stacked 2 high for 3" of extra clearance. Placed drain pan under sky. removed the oil plug.
Let her drain. reinstall oil plug and torque. Removed oil filter cartridge and installed new one. and torqued. replaced oil. start and watch oil light go off!!! Reset oil Life to 100%, remove drain pan from under car, close hood, back off homemade ramps. Job done in less than 30 minutes. and no mess!!!

Test drive car for about hour and half without wife,(wrong idea, boy did I get it when I got back home!)

Thanks to all forum members who I read about changing your own oil.
It was a very simple job! Next time will be even easier.

Washer on drain plug.

Didn't change the washer......
I always change the crush washer on my Goldwing,it is aluminum, however the sky had a rubber oring on the drain plug. Seemed to be in very good shape as it was the first oil change.
I will see if I can order a few for future changes.

Anybody else changing the oring?

I doubt if an instant oil change place would change the oring, or some service depts.

I also let the oil drain for a long time, steady stream for a few minutes, even with warm oil.
