hey everyone, i dont own a Sky but my sister does. She has a 2007 Sky and just yesterday her convertible top got cut into. Does anyone know how much does the Black Top cost? Or does anyone have a used top for sale? I need to help my sister out and find out for what the prices are for the top. I'm not sure if its a vinyl top or a different type.

The top is made of fabric, not plastic/vinyl. The going rate last time someone mentioned it was about $2,000.00 Which is a heavy..

According to my dealer it's about $3,000 to replace the whole thing including labor. Good luck!

She has the Black Fabric Top. She said insurance deductable is $1,000. They also made a 3-4" wide dent near the FM Antenna and the dent is about 2" deep. =( I feel my sisters pain. She also wanted to know if theres a Aftermarket automatic top for the sky. My sister suggested this for me to ask you guys since shes going to have to have the top taken out anyhow. Dude this sucks, my sister just got her car around October or November...

They stole her GPS (she left it on the seat...)
She should've been smarter about that, or atleast if she wanted to make it easier for them she should've just left the top down.

1-- Unfortunately no after market auto tops. (Where would you put the motor and all the mechanical stuff)? There's just not enough room. Plus it would add a lot of weight I'm sure.

2-- That GPS was the target alright. We have had cars broken into in the past reported here. Usually there was something left visible in the passenger compartment. Ipods, Laptops, purse, GPS, (this is the 1st GPS reported stolen that I am aware of). Some smashed the passenger window, others have cut the top. Many Sky's have been keyed. Why they damage the antenna area is odd. Maybe they tried to pry open the trunk and gave up. These ignorant lazy people thought maybe there would be more "goodies" in the back. Some are just cruel and jealous and just want to do harm and do damage to other peoples properties. I'm sure they were probably young hoodlums..

I would say your sister learned a valuable lesson. BTW where is she located?

Thanks guys for all your replies and concern. Shes more pissed off then sad. Shes in the army so I think if she knew who did it and saw them, she'd beat them down. To put that aside yeah I figured the Automatic Top wouldnt be around (yet) since its a new car for sure. Yeah I think thats the biggest reason why her car got broken into. If she wasnt so forgetful she would've put it in the glove compartment like she normally does. This isnt the first time cars have been broken into on my block, seem like maybe someone that lives around the area does it. They know what time we come home and leave and stuff. Hrmm.

We live near West Covina, CA.. Its about 15-20minutes from Los Angeles. Its not a bad area either.
