Help... Air conditioner problem!

While driving through Nevada on Monday 7/28, my '08 RL (aprox. 3800 mi.) air conditioner ceased blowing cold air. Fan worked as normal, but not cold. Double-checked everything, and no dial or switch was amiss. Outside temp over 100, coolant about 208 when problem occurred. Turned AirCon off, though tried it again about every 15-min. AirCon began blowing cold effectively again about 90-min. later, and has functioned normally ever since. Took car in to dealer for first service, told them about the problem. They couldn't find any reason for it, nor record of it. Their advice is to "bring it in if it happens again".

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, any advice re: what can be done to remedy? I greatly appreciate any help with this problem, thanks!

Remember the A/C cuts out when the Sky is working hard. At normal speeds and accelerating it stays on. Otherwise it cuts out till you are back to driving normal....Skip...

Back in the day,,,lol My old saturn would "freeze" up if I ran it on low most of the highway time. I remember them telling me to let it run on med and high some times so it will"thaw out" Not to keep it on low the whole time. Heck it's so small inside that I am all the time switching from off to on sooo I can thaw out. ha ha. It's hell living in Texas in the summer, HUH?

On alot of automotive airconditioners if run on the coldest setting the evaporator temperature gets below freezing. so the moisture removed from cooling the air freezes on the evaporator coils untill it blocks the coils completely off. The more moisture in the air the faster this can happen.

If the compressor is turned off they will defrost pretty quickly and the system will start operating again.

Low airflow through the evaporator will cause the same problem. such as a dirty cabin filter (Although I haven't found a cabin filter in the sky service manual yet)

But actually the big AIA run we did last Summer her's was pushing it and leaking all to heck on my leg & foot towards from the middle till the end of the trip so what like 5 hours? LOL
