Lil' Chromies problem

I installed the lil' chromies last weekend...quick and easy. The drivers side seemed to slip right on and locks/unlocks quite easy. The passenger side was VERY hard to get on and now it takes about 5-6 clicks on the fob to get it fully unlocked. When pulling it up manually, it definitely takes more force to pull up than the driver side.

Seeing as how it's not removable, the only thing I can think of is that the rod it goes on to is bent or some of that red goop got on a part and is making it not work as smoothly as it should. Has anyone pulled the plastic off the inside of the door? I didn't find any instructions here but maybe someone has done it...

That thread helped a bunch. When I pulled the plastic off, I could see where the lock was rubbing up against a square piece of foam. On top of that foam was a piece of felt. I'm assuming this block was to cut down on vibration.

Anyways, what I could see happening was that when I put the chromie on, some of the red glue that came with it had dripped down to this piece and began to stick. The felt was just about worn through and the lower part of the rod had some of the felt glued to it. So I got some sand paper and sanded off the felt from the rod and peeled off the remaining felt. Works just like new!!

So to those who are going to get lil' chromies, just remember to not use too much adhesive.

Good advice, and by the way it is called "Thread Lcok" . You need about 2 drops into the chromie and you are done!
