Mysterious objects under the hood

Can someone please tell me what those little plastic 'horn-like' devices are that are located behind the headlamp assembly under the hood?

They are to direct a long screwstick into the headlamp alignment screw when the hood is down. But seriously it collects the drool from Miata drivers that envy our Skys....Skip....

I don't want to be found arguing with Skip and Rick , but my dealer (Skips' too) said they were for wicking moisture from the assembly. They attract almost as must attention when the hood is up as the entire car does normally.

Deer warning horns?

Maybe they are like those little horns you buy that are supposed to scare deer to keep them from running out in front of you? haha

I one of those "see for myself" folks, so I went out and looked under the hood; actually ran a screwdriver throught the thing to see where it goes and sure enough there it is - adjustment for something or other (I'm guessing the angle/direction of the headlight itself. My question is what in the world is the deal with my dealership ? It was a service advisor that told me this when I called to set up an appointment because the taillights have condensation inside them. Weird stuff.

my tail lights have condensation too. It usually goes away though. Tonight at my house it is about 19 degrees!! I am ready for spring!! I ran through the touchless car wash and I had ice all over the front by the time I got home.

I am liking the answer about the headlamp adjustment...it makes sense but I don't know if I am 100% sure that you need a funnel to do that!?? Since when did they make it easy to work on these things!
I will probably lie awake tonight still wondering about it.

Since you are a newbie I will cut you some slack. You will have some condensation in your tail lamps for the simple reason that it has built in weep holes to let the moisture out. So you will have some condensation. It should not be enough to puddle up in the bottom of the housing. As to the part that I told you on the front of the car. The adjustment slots for the front lights. The reason is try putting a screwdriver aka screwstick on a small adjustment screw with the front hood down and you will then appreciate the little funnel for the screwdriver....Skip....
