oh no....having problems

5 days ago while driving, my check engine light came on. Onstar said it was O2 sensor and a bunch of other sensors. Brought it in the next day and they said they replaced a fuse and everything was fine.

Driving home (after the dealer closed) the light came on again. Onstar says same problem. The onstar guy thought it was weird because my mass sensor, O2 sensor, exhaust sensor and another sensor was sending out error codes. He felt that since they were "unrelated " sensors that I could have blown a fuse again.

Anyone have this problem and what did you do.

Thanks in advance.
Mike

Curious if you have RL or 2.4 Sky? I have the Red Line and my Check Engine light has been going off a lot and they are looking into Turbo problems. It seems to be triggered by relatively quick acceleration. Not flooring it, but quick acceleration to 45mph or 55mph from zero and getting 20 to 24 lbs turbo boost. Do that about 5 times and Check Engine light goes off. They have worked on it 3 times now... thought it was fixed and it came back on within hours of the last fix. GM engineer is coming into dealer to try a shot at it next

I have an RL. I just comes on. A cursory search of the forum showed several others with the same problem. 1st they replace the fuse, then the wiring, then the computer....blah

I gotta get that lemon law book ready.

I think replacement of the chip is on their list of things to try next. I've pushed the car some, but I'm really not pushing the engine that hard. I'm hoping the GM Engineer will have seen this before. I read in one of the other forums they had to replace the Turbo charger. All I want is a working car during prime convertible weather

Had it in today. They told me a wire cover that runs near the engine was melted and shorting. They replaced the wire. When they pulled it up for me to pick up, the check engine light was on again.

They take it back in and the mechanic said he forgot to wire the O2 sensor back on.

Drove it home, so far so good.

Did they check the ends of the other wire harnesses? when mine were checked , I was told most were not all the way connected and fraying/melting..... Worth a look! SkyBaby

Every once in a while my 'check motor light' also comes on.
Allstar finds no codes and it normally goes off by itself after a few days.
I believe it was on only once while at the dealers for a oil change. They found no reason and reset system. What seems to trigger a light is when I am going down an incline using the motor compression as my brake.

Oh well ...

Who knows what they "really" checked.

Will see how long it takes to break again.

WTH, I can't get anywhere near 24 pounds of boost in my RL!! Maybe 16, tops 18!!

Sky Pilot, I get 24's and 25's no problem, and so perhaps that may help indicate the problem, perhaps the "boost" limiter isn't working and 20 psi is max??

I can get it to show 24 & 25 psi boost by accelerating in 2nd gear with gas pedal down about 3/4 to the floor, don't even have to floor it the whole way. Perhaps this might help the Techs. They haven't called me back so I'm still driving it. CEL is on, but still getting lots and lots of boost. Much better performance than before CEL the first time.
