Problems engaging transmission

I'm the new guy on the block and I just had a scare in my new 07 Sky. The weather is freezing rain and I went to move the car and I couldn't put the car in gear! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, R. None of them. I had to turn off the engine, put the car in gear and restart the engine. Once I got moving, all was well. Anybody had this happen to them? Any suggestions as to what it might be?

How long did it sit? What's the outside temp?
Just a guess, but maybe there was some moisture between the clutch plate and flywheel and they froze together.

Yelp had that happen on a truck. Pushed in on clutch. Started and down the street I go. Then I realized that clutch was still down on floorboard. It broke loose in a couple of seconds. It was raining and sleeting the night before and was dang cold that morning. ...Skip....

im having this problem on my Sky Redline as well... its -11 outside right now and we had tons of snow and ice... i put the clutch in and start it but it won't go into gear. and as for starting it in gear it just wants to stall out. Do you think it could be moisture in there? Should i warm the car up fully? would that help it?

For what it's worth, I have noticed the water channeling engineering sometimes seems a bit challenging. Nothing major, as best I can tell, but there are several instances where the channeling isn't engineered to a high level of completeness. This could be the case here.
