Radio Randomly changes Channels

I may be the only one with this problem, but my radio seems to want to change channels randomly. I haven't figured out any correlation to it yet, top up, top down, in the sun, at night, Humid, dry. It happens on XM, normal Radio, and the CD player, although noticeably less on the CD player. I think it may be a problem with one of the buttons on the head unit, but I don't know. I assume I will have to take it back to the dealership to have it fixed, but I was going to see if anyone else has this problem, and a easy fix. The dealership is such a pain in the ass.

I have never seen this problem with the radio. However some have seen issues with the DIC doing something like this and it has been an electrical short or cracks in the fuse box.

I have seen things like this with other electronic devices though and as you mentioned it most commonly is a sticky button.
Have you ever spilled anything on the radio?
Are there any buttons on the radio that seem to not consistently work?
If so a good electronics spray cleaner may do some good. You can order a cleaner that is designed to clean PC boards and plastic safe from Allied Electronics, Parts Express,Electronics Express, Or a local dealer if there is one in your area.
All the buttons on the radio should feel the same when they are pressed if one feels different from the rest( doesn't press in as much,or doesn't return out as far as the rest) you have probably found the culprit.

It is also possible that a connector is loose. The radio is operated by steering wheel buttons that use varying voltage levels to signal changes. A loose connector could be resulting in random signals.

Also make sure you are not hitting a button while shifting or steering. I pretty regularly hit the steering wheel mute button while cornering.

I am almost positive nothing has been spilled on it as im pretty anal about stuff like that. Also, the buttons seem to all work, so maybe a loose connector. I have ruled out the steering wheel, as it is switching channels, not between the favorates like the steering wheel controls would do. It is rather freeky, because with XM its seeming to always go to channel 56 or something, and on the normal radio it wants to go to 101.5 pretty consistantly. Anyway, we will see, I will hopefuly make it in sometime next week

Mine had this problem and was driving me nuts. I found out, that the cord from my GPS was moving under hard acceleration and was adjusting the radio
