Rubbing sound from tire walls???

I'm hearing a rubbing sound from the front of my car when I turn my wheel far left or right. Sounds like the tires are rubbing the walls.

What gives????

Yes... New car only 3 months old.... Sounds like it's rubbing the walls but not sure. I only hear it at low speed when I turn the wheel hard left or right.

Do you know what this is or ever heard of this before?

When we got home from the Lantana run with MarlboroMike I noticed the orange marker light on the drivers side totally hanging down, wires exposed and all! Hubby took care of it and I thought all was well.
It was after that that I started to hear that same rubbing noise - usually while backing out of a parking spot and cutting the wheel. Yesterday as I was driving through a parking lot I started to hear a clicking sound - sure enough when I parked the car that damn light was hanging out again and hitting the side of the car....I'm starting to think it's related to the warping of the plastic inside the wheel well.
I'll be taking her in to the Coconut Creek facility. I'll let you know what I find out.

Did you check for any road-kill...could be plastered with brains and entrails...unless it's a Papillon...in that case there would be no brains evident...

Refer to my old thread. Saturn has been leaving a part off the cars since mid year 07 that I knew would cause these issues. I made my dealer order them and put them in, but he said that the part was discontinued (probably to save $$$) Read on....

I had a warped wheel well that I had replaced. Do you have any bulging or buckling in your wheel well?

I don't see any wear on the tires... It's just this sound I hear when cutting the wheel all the way LT or RT... It sounds like rubbing but I don't see anything. I'm going in for my 1st oil change so I will have them look at it.

TIN I think its the dif making the noise it just sounds like its in the front I have the same problem when back up and make a turn and there was a tread in here on it and I have the brackets the mike is talking about so I don't know if that is to blame all though it is probably not helping. I have not found a single wear mark on the wells or tires and my car is lowered and 20 size wheels so I would be a very good candidate for rubbing

Thanks Joker... I don't see any wear at all. It's just an annoying sound and I am having it checked next week at my first oil change.

I just noticed today that my front wheel wells have holes in the front that line up with holes in brackets behind them. There were never any fasteners installed, where clearly they were designed for it. I installed some short bolts to secure them. This may reduce wheel well flexing that is rubbing under the bottom of the hood. It might be a source of tire rubbing for others when the wheels are turned. These missing fasteners are in a similar location as where the factory added fasteners to the rear wheel wells on the early production Skys as a recall due to rubbing. Any one else missing these fasteners?

joker may be right. My rear dif made a rubbing/grinding noise when making hard slow turns. Dealer replaced the clutch pacs. Problem fixed. Find a large parking lot and make some slow hard figure 8's. This is a common problem with the LSD.
