Saggy seat starting to be painful!

There's a thread over on the Solstice Forum about someones saggy seat starting to be more that just an aesthetic issue Saggy seat is starting to be painful - Pontiac Solstice Forum

I just turned 10K miles and now when I go over a bump or hill (something that pushes you down into your seat) I can feel my a** hit something hard.
Anyone else having this problem? I was resigned to the fact that the seat leather sagged but now that it's starting to cause a true problem, I'm going to push the issue with my dealer. I know about the JPM fix and It looks like it would do the trick but I really feel (no pun intended) that it's a GM problem and they should address it first. Are there any Technical Bulletins that I can reference or something else "Official" that I (we) can quote when we take it in for this problem. I'm not a big guy and I can't believe I'm the only one having this happen. (It's truly become "a pain in the A**")

my dealership stated that Saturn is coming out with a new seat and he will replace mine but I should wait a few more weeks...it is now a few more weeks and when i bring my car in for an oil change, I will request the exchange. A few weeks ago was early Augest.

No, it's on my '08 as well. You can easily see the difference between my driver's seat and my (rarely used)passenger seat.

And before anyone claims it's due to my fat ***, I'm 5'11" and 160 pounds (not exactly a heavy guy).

I'm 240 lbs and don't seem to have the problem. Of course, perhaps a healthy dose of back side triacylglycerides (aka fat ***) is the answer.

I went to the dealer today and they were great, said "No problem", they ordered a seat cover and replacement seat foam, I'll let you know how the final results work out.

seats

I can tell you after 75-80 miles in the 08 Sky we feel that serious lower back pain has set in. Comparing the seats of the Sky to our 08 Vue and our 06 F350 PS we notice what seems to be a huge differance in the decline from the front of the seat to the rear. Maybe thats the problem, maybe not. I don't know. I reclined the seat back somewhat but noticed only a slight improvement. I can live with the wrinkled seat material, but the pain, ouch. I sure wish that the Vue seats could replace the seats in the Sky........serious problem, serious.

I find out something new everyday on this forum. I took a lengthy roadtrip and my lady friend said "these seats are very very uncomfortable".

We are both fairly young, very active, no major medical problems, exercise often, etc etc. so this is definitely an issue with the seats. We both had a pretty sore back after this lengthy roadtrip which surprised me. On visual inspection the seats appear fine, but damn do they start to give the blues after a while. Glad to see other people have experienced this too.

I always thought the seats were fine, comfort wise, always felt good. I never pushed the saggy leather because I didn't want to mess with the feel. The other day when my A** bottomed out and I felt the road I had to take it in to see what they could do .............

I AGREE!...I wasn't going to bother with it, but its starting to cause sharp pains starting from my lower back down into my legs....I've talked to my Dr. and from his stand point he acknowledges that the lack of support can cause this. Now I don't expect this to happen on short trips, but longer than 2 hrs it happens...

When I called the dealership about some of Jades issues yesterday I mentioned the seat again, they said there is not a fix that they do but feel free if I want to take it to an upholsterer.... . I am just going to put Jade out to pasture and leave her there! SkyBaby
