Stage 2 in Limbo?

Beginning to consider the BSR tune, which has my interests in seeing where the GMPP State 2 kit is (with regards to being available). Called my contact at Saturn, and the Stage 2 kit did not appear to be anything on the immediate horizon. Can't find any updates on it on the Solstice forum either. Anyone have any news? I figure if i go ahead and buy the BSR tune, the GMPP one will be released a week later.

Hasn't it been 6 months since it was originally announced for the Solstice?

My Saturn contact was going to tap some internal resources to see if she could find any more details. Don't know anyone at Pontiac, but i may try that route as well. Will post if i learn anything exciting.

Hey BSR is releasing the E85 tune and for our cars it should make the HP go up a bit plus cheaper fuel. Something to consider!

Called 2 different Pontiac Parts Depts in Jacksonville

Neither aware of any release dates for the Solstice GXP Stage 2. Not a good sign - i had to explain to them what i was asking about and looking for. An even worse sign, neither was even aware of the GMPP intake that is already available for the 2.0L.

what are we reasonably looking at HP-wise when we say 'go up a bit'? The idea of a non GM sponsored flash/reflash into the ECM spooks me when it comes to issues further down the road. i assume they could detect updates to the ECM if necessary.

It was my understanding that E85 fuel cannot be used because it will corrode parts of the fuel system that are not designed to handle it.

I don't see how an ECM tune could solve this problem.

I (hopefully) sense a Bogie technical lecture on our horizon...

Personally I would rather burn my car than burn subsidized, energy and money wasting corn alcohol.

Just my opinion.

From my understanding E85 only requires a specific tune. My RSX can run E85. BSR sent me an email about the E85 don't know if they are making it for our cars yet, but the HP gains are impressive as much as 20+ whp.

A friend who just dynoed first on 93 at 298 whp then we reflashed and tuned for E85 he went to 325 whp. So a big jump cleaner fuel and cheaper. Yet we have Kpro a fully programmable ECU in our RSX Type S and they are both equal and boosted that WHP at 11 psi.

BSR sent me an email (I have the BSR PPC and Tune) said they were working on E85 tune. I can't read German or whatever their site is written, but I am liking the idea of E85.

Running E85 requires significantly larger injectors than gas. So unless the Sky has much bigger injectors than needed you'll have to change them out.

E-85 can also result in lower mpg sometimes by up to 25%. Couple this with the fact that it usually costs 15% less its not a good deal.
