You had mentioned that no one answered this question in another thread. I just now found it. Maybe it was the title that was confusing, but I even looked for this one and couldn't find it.

Anyway, I'll be changing out mine too and I'll include my usual photo essay as I go through the mod.

I thought the "threads or no threads" in the subject line to be a 60s hippy reference for clothing (i.e "Nice threads dude, made from hemp?").....
and thought this core topic was on whether skybaby should nude sunbath or not.

If I knew it was about shifter knobs, I never wouldve clicked it.

if i Remeber correctly our Shift nobs do not have threads, you can not screw it off and put a new one on. There is a rivet holding our shift nob into place so you have to drill out the rivet and then re-press a new rivet in when yo uinstall the new shift knob.

anyways thats my recollection and it wasn't to long ago i had to replace my old one due to wear so i am pretty sure thats the case.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news.....

after a month of using my sky rl, my shift know started acting up weird.....and became lose. I tried tightening it but nothing happened. I brought it to the dealership....and they told me that it can't be tightened. They have to order the whole shift assembly and replaced the whole thing. I now have a new shift know assembly....and shift boot.

So I'm not really sure what's the deal of our shift knobs....
