tpms from tirerack.com compatible with sky?

Hi,

when I ordered my new wheels and tires from tirerack.com, I also purchased tpms on each.

I was just wondering if these tpms from tirerack.com are compatible with our sky?

or should I remove the tpms from oem wheels and install them on my aftermarket wheel?

I am just getting sick of getting the SVC tire pressure alert on my DIC

thanks!

Hello,

What did you eventually do about this? I'm thinking of getting wheels for my Sky and have to figure out what to do regarding the TPMS. I'd really like to have the sensors on my new wheels.

Thanks,
Carlin

Don't you just have to go through the calibration process in the manual when you swap to a new set of rims with the TPMS installed? From what i saw they are not complicated cost about $40 at napa for the 4 sensors and they just screw on the valve stem. And I thought you could just reuse the original ones on the car, or am I completely wrong on this?

The sensors attach to the back of the valve stem. In order to swap them to new rims, you would need to break the bead on the outside of the rim on both the old and new tire/rim combo, then transfer them over.

If you buy rims with tires and TPMS already installed, they will also be balanced, so all you need to do is install the rims and calibrate the sky

It's much easier. My co-worker just did this on his Mini Clubman.
Cool thing is, if you are going to be swapping rims and tires depending on the season or for autoX, moving forward you can calibrate or not for both sets.

Can these be retrofitted to a base sky? Does the 2.4 have the receiver for the TPMS?
