Trunk misalignment?

Just curious, has anyone noticed the trunk lid not fitting correctly around the rear lights (both sides)?

I was coming out of Home Depot today and noticed what appeared to be the paint scrapped around where the truck lid closes next to the top of the rear lights. I'm sure it's just an alignment problem that could be fixed by the dealer, but it appears to have just started. Has anyone else seen this?

trunk misalignment?

The trunk? Oh yeah!, And the hood and the passenger door and the gas flap and the trim rings around the tail lights and the top and the weatherstripping and now the infamous rear end howl. But, I really dig the car. My dealer sent it to a local top rated body shop where it was repaired except for the passenger door that was deemed a factory stamping flaw by the body shop. Can't be fixed. Saturn area rep's position is that if it was his car it would be good enough for him. Duh. Do they actually get paid for such moronic statements. More to the story but enough said. Get your trunk fixed and look your car over with a critical eye. You may be overlooking something.

Makes me wonder how some of these defects leave the factory. During our MeccaII tour there were boatloads of QC check points, to include a laser alignment room where the car gets a once over with a laser to detect alignment faults.

I hear ya Bogie...my trunk and hood are both somewhat misaligned. My trunk, when closed properly, sits about 2-3mm below the silver plastic behind the seat. The hood sticks out over the passenger quarterpanel as well. When I told the dealer, they told me to schedule an appointment in two weeks and expect to leave it for a few days

I got mine adjusted twice by the dealer. I would take it back again but I just don't have any confidence that it would come back better instead of worse.

Bolts left loose after final adjustment.

Thanks everyone. I'll see the dealer this week and get it fixed. As of now I don't see any other issues with alignments of the doors or hood.

my trunk is off and there is some paint screwed up but it doesn't hit right now so i can't tell if it was from that or something the previous owner did.
