Trunk Springs Open just Right Now

Here is a picture of my fix for the trunk opening. I drilled a hole in each tab
which is connected to the tortion bar. The bar is hardened but the tab is cold rolled and drills through easily.

does this help keep the trunk open? This is a good idea, I've been thinking about rigging somthing to help keep the trunk open. Mine wont stay open when the wind is blowing lightly or even when I'm parked on a small decline.

Works for me on an incline too. Opens trunk all the way smoothly when you push button on key fob. The springs are from Home Depot and measure 2 and one half inches long by
.072 dia. The next size up was too strong and pulled the trunk cover too hard.

LOL you stole my idea!

But I did not cut holes. I threaded the end of the torsion bar and fit the end of the spring over the torsion bar.

Your solution is pretty elegant. I like it too.

Your enginuity is not overlooked! Thank you for the great directive idea. I only contributed in my small way to an idea in the chain of thought. Thank You!

Well to give credit where its due, Im going to follow your improved method when I do the wife's Sky. Its simpler than threading the end of the rod.
