Uneven rear brake wear

Noticed today the brake pads on the rear brakes are wearing unevenly causing the parking brake to not hold the car on an incline. The outer edge of the brake pads (covered by the brake caliper) are much thinner than the inner edge (closest to the wheel hub). Does anyone else see this one their Sky? I guess i should have the service dept look at it.

Had a problem just today where I got out of my car to close the garage door and the car began to move. the parking brake would not hold it in place unless fully retracted and even then just barely. I did not think to check the brake pads I assumed it was a bad adjustment on the PB and needed to be fixed.

Huh? I assumed you meant inside pad vs outside pad, or left side vs right side. I don't know how you'd get wear that isn't parallel to the backer on the pad.

So what's not touching what? Is the pad not touching the rotor on one edge, or is the caliper not touching the backer on one edge?

My parking brake also got to where it would not hold. The service manager said they adjusted it as far as it would go and still would not hold. They had to order and replace the left rear caliper.

the outer pad outer edge on both left and right rear brakes. as it sits the outer edge is not contacting the rotor so i dont see how it could be more worn than the inner edge that is touching right now.

Adjust the Parking brake by going in reverse and pulling up on the parking brake. This clicks the pads and calipers on the rear brakes only. One pass should be enough. Now that the parking brake is adjusted then normal braking should adjust all the rest of your brake system...Skip...
