1) Get in touch with the previous owner. You should be able to find out who it is from whoever sold you the car. If not, the DMV should be able to get it from the title transfer. They will either have the key, or know what brand the locks are. Or not.

2) Visit shops in the area that sell wheels. One of them may know what brand the locks are and have a means to get a key.

3) Get a nut splitter and plan to spend a rough day cutting the locks off. Plan to replace at least two of the studs, too.

Or you can go to your local auto parts shop and they sell kits which are reverse threaded locking lug removal sockets you will need a vise to remove the lugs from the sockets but they do work.

I've gotten a set of stripped puzzle locks off before by driving a socket over the top of them. you'll be replacing the locks though and don't use your favorite socket set.

I don't think he'll get it off with that. They are for a standard drill and are a wee bit too wimpy for a lug nut. Great for smaller stuff though.

Best way to do it and only requires the sacrifice of one socket.

Ok,here is an up date I did follow the suggestions you guys give me and it worked
All I did was insert a regular 17mm socket hammer it in and sure it came out all of them without damaging any of my sockets now I know how the bad guys steal the wheels now this locks are useless they came off in like a minute. Thanks to every one that help me on this situation cause I was going out of my mind trying to find out how to take them off

Merry Christmas to all

Most antitheft measures will only slow an unprepared thief down hopefully enough to get caught or give up before he/she gets what they are after.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Exactly.
I don't have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun you.
You don't make your car/stuff untakable, you just make it easier to take someone elses.
Did you think about a trunk monkey instead of wheel locks? -J

One of my ex-workers, a real midnight auto parts expert, told me of this simple way years ago, supposedly he could get a V-8 out in 30 minutes

I know this thread is for taking them off, but the best kind of locking nut is the round ones that are somewhat oblong shaped. Hard to get anything on them to hold, especially for a sunken nut, but if you loose the key you are back trying to find a way to get them off.

But for the most part agree, they only slow a good thief down.

Only way I would consider adding them is if I had REAL expensive wheels and tires on it. AND I would buy the best ones made. Otherwise I would just "weld' the suckers on, not even a thief carries a torch, or do they?? hmm

Any wheel shop worth their salt can take them right off. They will either use an air chisel and snap them in half, or they have a rubber socket that contracts over the lock to pull it off.

I once stripped one of my wheel locks, brought it to the lexus dealer and they popped it right off while I waited.

Self adjusting socket ?

Perhaps a self adjusting socket? of course, not so useful on a smooth round lug nut.

But I think a previous posts was referring to the locking lug nut remover - looks like it includes a steel rod to knock the lug but out of the socket after it is removed.

Or even a whole kit of wheel lock removal sockets.
