Which wire harness is correct?

I have been reading here, and on the Solstice forum, and I am unsure which harness I should be getting when I swap out my OEM headunit for an aftermarket. I have read the Metra GMOS-LAN-03 is the correct to use if you have a non-monsoon system (which I do)... but you lose OnStar and/or chimes. I heard that the Metra GMOS-LAN-04 enables you to retain the chimes and OnStar... but then I read it only works for the Monsoon systems... what is the deal here?

I would like to maintain the chimes, but I dont worry about OnStar... I have tried finding the info out, but I get too much conflicting info... has anyone put in a stereo in a Sky that did not come with the Monsoon, using the LAN-04?

This is how it works. The GMOS-LAN-03 harness will retain your chimes, and onstar and hook up to your radio. It will not retain the blinker clicks on its own. You need to hook up a relay (sold seperately and quite easy to hook up) in order to retain this function.

GMOS-Lan-04 will retain onstar and all chimes as well as blinker clicks (without a relay needed) for systems with teh Monsoon system. This will also hook up directly to your radio.

I have a non Monsoon system as you do and have full chimes, alarms and blinker clicks. Onstar would work as well (if I had it) See my sig for full instructions and pictures.

Ok, thanks for the info. Do you know what the part number is for the relay? Where does the relay hook in (I assume into the harness somewhere)?

I am getting set to do this... Your system came out nice!

Thx for the compliments. It sounds pretty good too. I have to upgrade the front speakers since the Solo Performance Street race exhaust install. For some reason I can't hear them as good as i could before

The instructions for the GMOS-LAN-03 explain how to wire up the relay. Once connected it will wire up to the gmos harness. Parts list for the entire project below.

Parts List:

Pioneer - AVIC D3 (Head unit)
PAC SWI-PS (Used to retain factory Steering Wheel controls)
Metra - 95-3302 (Double din dash install kit for Sky/Solstice)
Metra - 40-cr10 (Antenna adapter)
METRA - GMOS-LAN-03 (Onstar / chime harness) For NON monsoon system
NAPA auto parts- AR201 (12v 30 amp SPDT (Single pole double throw) relay (Needed with GMOS-Lan-03 for blinker "click") That is the relay that I used and one with similar specs should work just fine.

Add on extras to teh ststem that are not necessary, but make for a nice install.
Pioneer - CD-I200 (High Speed iPod Cable)
Pioneer - SIR-PNR2 (Sirius Satellite Radio adapter)
Pioneer - ND-BC2 (Rear view camera)
Pioneer - CD-BTB200 (Bluetooth adapter)
