wiring schematic for adding floor lights

Does anyone know where to find a sky wiring schematic? I want to add some LED lights to illuminate the floor area upon entry and exit. My thought is to try and tie into the electrical line that feeds our mirror lights. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

I don't have a schematic, but I think the fuse for the mirror lights is in the passenger footwell. Just pull back the carpet that's up against the firewall and there will be a cardboard panel held on with velcro. Just take it off to see the fuse map.

I put in LEDs in the footwell but I put them on a switch.

Thanks for the reply. I was going of tap into the fuse box feed to the mirror lights and trace the line to as close as I can get to a foot well. I was hoping someone had already done something like this and had a colored wire and location description available. If no one comes up with a solution here in the near future, I will get on it and post for others to use.

Thanks again for your input. The footwells are a bit dark at night and if you drop something that is black, get out the flash light.

The service manual is available from helminc.com for about $135. It is the only source I know of for the schematics.

There is a fuse labelled "Int Lights", but it won't help you control any lighting, as it is always powered through the Inadvertent Load Control Relay.

The courtesy lights are always powered, and are turned on by grounding, either through the manual switch on the light, or through the BCM when the doors open or the airbag deploys. The BCM connection is through connector C3, terminal A10. C3 is the horizontal rectangular connector located just above most of the fuses.

Service Manual

Just a quick note - the web site for the manual is helminc.com. Has anyone bought the manual and if so, how would you rate it?

Not sure if it helps you, but reminds me of a similar mods thread: Map Light and Footwell Mods. Keep us posted with results if you pursue this.

Sorry about that, typing without checking.

I have bought a manual (if available) from Helm for every car that I have owned. If you intend to modify or repair your car I think it is essential.

I don't always like the way it is laid out, but all the information you need is there.

I'll second that! as far as manuals go it's as complete as you will find.
