HI Guys,

I just got off the phone with both of you and for everyone else here is what I told the two manuals that just received our Tuned ECM's.

I spent an hour at our Saturn Dealer today researching this issue.....Unfortunately GM likes to keep this difficult. So they did away with the "Crank Re-learn" on the new ECM's but on the '08 (Manual transmissions) they have added a "Clutch Position Sensor Learn" that must be done by a dealer with a Tech2 Unit. Now I did say "A Dealer" and not a "Saturn Dealer", the trick here is that any GM Dealer with a Tech2 unit can preform this procedure. It does not require a re-flash just a quick 30 second Process of pressing the Clutch peddle to the floor and letting the ECM learn where the floor is.

We're Guessing whats happening is that after they put the new ECM's in and after they do the Security Learn that the car is technically ready to start but the car does not know where the floor is because it has not had the "Clutch Position Sensor Learn" done.

The '07 Redlines are not spec'ed out to have the "Clutch Position Sensor Learn" so I'm guessing that they will only need to perform the Security re-learn. Also the Automatics do not require the Clutch Learn process either so you should be good to go as well.

My Apologies for the inconvenience...I only learned of this procedure after the Units Shipped out.

Many Thanks to those front runners for there good spirits to help with this process, overall the entire community will learn from our experience's!

Thank you!

Martin

Ahhh, good to know. I have an appt to have the seat belt stud recall done next Friday so I'll have them do the relearn and ECM install while I'm there. Glad I read this now, I was just getting ready to pop the hood and install it!

btw...I assume this will have to be done whenever (each time) the ECM is swapped out?

I'm guessing no just because the cars that installed the new ECM's yesterday were able to put there Stock ECM's back in with no issues, the cars started right up. So I'm assuming once the Relearn is done on the ECM it should be good to go.....

Thank you.

Just an update:

I am at the dealer this morning and had them relearn the clutch sensor on the new ECM. Unfortunately, they told me the the new ECM did not match the VIN number of my car and had to reflash the entire ECM. I always wonder if this is a scam to get more money out of me! GRRRRR!

Anyway, when I get my car back, i'll be sending Martin back the new ECM to reflash the tune and hopefully everything will work when I get it back.

I guess this would not happen to customers that send in their own ECMs to get tuned.

Well that kind of stinks.
That's a good question.
Has anyone who has sent their ecm to be reflashed vs get a second, have an issue?

This correct, If you send Us your ECM then it is already encoded with your VIN number. We have the capability to write a VIN number to an ECM which is what we did on all the new ECM's that we sent out so I'm not sure if it was a mistake on our part or the Dealer making up a line...Either way we are committed to working through the these first few ECM's that went out till they are 110% satisfied!

PearlSky08, Thank you for working with us on this!

glad i got an 07

I feel a lot better about having an 07.

I think I'll hang on to this one for a while instead of getting a new one.

Can you copy an ECM to another ECM, then upgrade it?

I don't know what happens with you put a ECM with a invalid VIN #. All I know is that when I popped the new ECM into the car yesterday, it did try to relearn the security but just didn't start because of the clutch sensor relearn.

Anyway, got my car back and have both ECM's with the stock program. Sending the new ECM back to Martin to retune.

Yes, an the Kseries are 2.0, 2.4 liter motors. These make HP to 9,000 RPM's or more.

Example:

My boosted 2.0 K-series with a Jackson racing Supercharger at 11 PSI made 333 Crank HP. (11 PSI!) 333 HP was at 8K RPM's giving me another 1K of rollover. With the blower I was over 200 whp at 3K RPM.

I have seen the K-series turbo's above 500 whp for daily driving.

Another example: A 2.0 K-series Normally Apsriated with ITR Cams and an intake off the Civic Si and a reflash/Kpro will net you 230 whp. No turbo, no nitrous, no boost.

V-tec has a dual purpose to keep fuel consumtion low at low RPM's, then supply race quality power at high RPM's. This is why everyone things you have to rev the Honda's/Acura's to get power. V-tec stock starts about 6K rpms with a reflash this can be moved to 4K rpms or even on when the throttle reaches a certain percentage.

Our motors do not do this or they would be awesome and get better gas mileage.

If the ECM has a Stock Tune then Technically yes we can copy one Tune to the other but That doesn't make much sense.....Our ECM's are written by a Saturn Dealer then Handed over to us and we make the Updates to those ECM's before we ship to the Members. We are able to change VIN numbers as well to make sure the New ECM's match the car they re going to.....

Martin,

I received confirmation mine is on the way and I have an '07 Redline manual so I'll see soon how it goes with just the security learn.

Also did you see the post I placed for the security relearn from PCMFORLESS. If their instructions are wrong let me know and I'll delete the post. 2.0 SIDI Turbo Tuning Now Available!

Thanks again for all your help.

I'm interested in getting this tune, but the form for selecting an alternate shipping address appears to be broken. It asks for Company Name, Middle Name, and then has a box for Address 2.

You can use the Comments box to add a second address....Also I only have 2 ECM's Left before I'll have to go on the wait to get more....

Thanks,

Martin

So if we purchase the tune and send in our stock computer, will you reflash the tune in it down the road if GM reflashes it to stock?
